Directed by Akiva Schaffer, Liam Neeson, Paul Walter Houser, Pamela Anderson, and Kevin Durand are the stars of The Naked Gun. A new comedy/crime/action movie based on the popular late 80s and early 90s films of the same name starring Leslie Nielsen.

I haven’t watched the original The Naked Gun movies. Namely, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) and The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991). Nevertheless, I remember seeing the poster artwork for one of the earlier films at least once before. A poster not too dissimilar to the above thumbnail.

After this promising teaser trailer, hopefully, the movie is worthwhile. Especially with a tagline as promising as ‘The law’s reach never stretched this far‘ to accompany the fun poster image above.

One fateful day in 1984, an unemployed ice cream truck driver named Michael Larson (Paul Walter Hauser) became a contestant on TV game show Press Your Luck.

What the executives at the show didn’t know is that Larson was harbouring a secret, and his real motivations.

Directed by Samir Oliveros and based on a true story, additional key cast includes Shamier Anderson, Walton Goggins and Haley Bennett.

I simply need to know how Larson did it and why. I’m also mesmerised by Hauser’s performance and how adorable his character outwardly appears. Future perfect Santa alert, if you ask me.

Patti Harrison, Brian Geraghty, Lilli Kay, Johnny Knoxville, Tatiana Ronderos, Ricky Russert, David Rysdahl, David Strathairn, Maisie Williams, Shaunette Renée Wilson and James Wolk also star.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Da 5 Bloods (2020).

Today is the day for something new from Oscar-winning director Spike Lee. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Jean Reno, Delroy Lindo and Paul Walter Hauser; Da 5 Bloods is the story of four African American veterans battling the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam. The men are there on a mission to find the remains of their fallen Squad Leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide.

My mind’s already trying to race with ideas of how the story is likely to end. I’m in for what will likely be another creatively noteworthy film by from Lee.

I’m also watching for Boseman’s performance and images of vietnam.

Clint Eastwood’s latest drama, Richard Jewell, tells the true story of Jewell, an American security guard who heroically saved thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympic Games, in Atlanta, USA.

Starring Paul Walter Hauser, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates, Eastwood’s film is about the unjust vilification of Jewell by journalists and the press, who falsely reported that he was a terrorist.

Firstly, what a wonderfully edited trailer. Second, I remember enjoying Hauser’s work in I Tonya (2017) and it looks like he’s truly great in this far more dramatic role. Now I can’t wait to find out how things turned out for Jewell.

One more thing: YEEAAH! Another Eastwood movie! Just had to let that out.
