In 1983, the biggest prison escape in Europe since World War II took place at County Antrim, Northern Ireland. 

Written/directed by Stephen Burke, Maze is inspired by the true events of the infamous breakout of 38 IRA (Irish Republican Army) prisoners. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Barry Ward and Martin McCann star.

I don’t ordinarily seek them out, but I definitely haven’t seen a really great and gritty prison drama since Starred Up (2013). It looks as though that’s about to change.
