Starring Sam Elliott, Nick Offerman, Krysten Ritter and Laura Prepon, The Hero is about an ailing movie star (Elliott) who’s coming to terms with his past and mortality.
I like the subject matter, and, not to drag things to the dark side a little bit, but we’ll all be ailing at some point. It can’t hurt to learn a thing or two about how other people deal with it.
I liked Elliott’s performance in I’ll See You In My Dreams (2015), almost as much as I did the deep bass in his wonderful voice. *Sigh.
The Hero Release Dates: June 9th, 2017 (US)…
Happy Film Loving,

I’m nowhere near 71 yet, but I must be getting old because I can almost relate to this… Scary
‘Almost relate?’
Your comment only poses more questions…but you know that. 😀
Almost relate is where you can relate but you’re not ready to admit you can relate 😉
Can you tell me if you have any in New Hampshire showcases or Cinema or I can see it
I think you answered your own question, Joanne. If not, I sure hope you’ve found the answer by now. Fingers crossed you liked the movie. 🙂
I thought the interview Sam gave was uncalled for His language, f.ing this, f.ing that cheapened him. Maybe that is the way he talks in everyday life……but not in FB interview. Makes me think less of him.
Hello Janette, I actually haven’t seen the Facebook interview you’re referring to. I tend to avoid interviews about films I haven’t seen yet. If I watch them at all, it’ll usually be once I’ve seen the movie. I take it you’ve watched the film?
This actually looks very interesting. I will be looking forward to this film. It may sound odd, but the whole story kinda brought to mind this song by Johnny Cash “Hurt”, and the lyrics – [leaving behind’] “the empire of dirt”, or something. I guess it is all about the fleetness of fame, and one’s mortality.
Interesting is right! 😀
I’m just really excited to take it all in.
The Johnny Cash song coming to mind thing doesn’t sound odd at all. That type of thing happens to my busy mind quite often. 🙂
