Focused on the story of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, we get to learn plenty about the avenger’s complicated past in an engaging tale that features unhealthy family dynamics, secrets, lies and some impressive action/fight sequences.
The main stars, Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz are great. And unsurprisingly, as is the case with most, if not all Marvel movies, the musical score is impressive.
In addition to the action and music, my favourite thing about Black Widow is the sisterly dynamic between Pugh and Johansson’s characters. So much so that I’m ready for more Johansson/Pugh movies.
In terms of where Black Widow sits in my list of favourite Marvel movies, the understandably seemingly abrupt ending aside, I can say that I liked this movie more than I do Captain Marvel (2019). Which of the two films ranks higher for you?

Can’t believe that I still haven’t seen this yet.
I hope you get to see it soon. It’s fun, if nothing else. 🤓
I really liked this movie. I was really expecting to not get past seeing Natasha again and…well…knowing what happens to her, but I very quickly got so into the movie that I was able to get past it. Like you I really enjoyed seeing her and her sister. It was a fun movie and really explained a lot in terms of her past, but also what she dealt with when she was on the run. Yes, the end is still bitter sweet but I can’t wait to see what her sister will bring to the next chapter. As far as which two films Black Widow or Captain Marvel rank higher for me…hmmm..I might have to say Black Widow ranks just a slight higher for me.
Overall, Black Widow’s more engaging story is what put it in the lead, for me – that along with all the other highlights I mentioned.
I too wonder when we’ll see something new with Pugh’s character. 🤔
I hope so. I really liked her.
I’m thinking it will be a pleasant surprise announcement, along with something else that’s even bigger 🙏
As a Florence Pugh and food fan, I think you may appreciate the below, that’s if you haven’t seen it at least once already. 🤓 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cxHwQl9pNM
Thank you so much for sharing this. I did not know Florence Pugh was such a foodie. I so enjoyed that. The food looked delicious. The fish and chips looked so good. I have never had English fish and chips… or true English fish and chips that is and I have always wanted to try it. I’m hungry now after watching that.
It’s my absolute pleasure, Christy. 🤓 I’ve watched it a few times. And each time I made sure I’m not hungry. Either that or I make sure I have something yummy within reach. As for true English Fish & chips, it can be good. You just have to get it from a good place, which isn’t always easy, but it’s very possible. 😋
I will remember that if one day, hopefully I get to travel over that way and get to taste the real thing.
