MIGRATION (2023): New Trailer From Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Migrarion (2023).

New animated comedy/adventure Migration is the story of a duck family heading towards Jamaica for a long overdue vacation.

Directed by Benjamin Renner and Guylo Homs; Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Kumail Nanjiani and Awkwafina voice the key characters.

The four things I already like about Migration are:

  1. All the big-eyed duck cuteness
  2. The beautiful song that starts at 1:07 minutes into the trailer
  3. The great voice-work by all involved
  4. The promising humour, of course

I wonder where this will land in my list of favourite animated films about birds; a list that currently includes Chicken Run (2000) and The Angry Birds Movie (2016).

Are you ready for some cute avian shenanigans? I sure am.

David Mitchell, Caspar Jennings, Tresi Gazal, Carol Kane and Danny DeVito also star.

Migration Release Dates: December 22nd, 2023 (2023), February 2nd, 2024 (UK)…

Happy Film Loving

  1. I hope it’s good and has substance. My fiancee thinks I won’t watch animated movies these days, but she only hears me saying that animated movies are no longer special anymore because of CGI and how rapidly they’re turned around. TJ sees me look ho-hum at most CGI movie trailers, but I will say Monsters, Inc. and the Toy Story films always give me hope. I like a number of these CGI films, but they have to really sock it home for me. THIS one kinda gives me hope. 🙂

    1. I agree with you. There are several animated movies I don’t watch beyond the trailer. This one I will make time for. Fingers crossed we’re all delighted post-viewing. 🤞

Also, the classics you’ve mentioned are great, and at the top of my list sits Ratatouille(2007)

  2. Sorry, I meant to say those older films give me a smile because I love them so much and I like Monster House, the Shrek films, the How to Train Your Dragon films, Brave, the first Hotel Transylvania, etc. TJ had to bulldoze me to watch Frozen 2 because my son ruined the original for me with insane repetitive plays of the original soundtrack. It seems like there are so many CGI films I can’t get down with it all, but for some reason, Migration speaks to me.

    1. Brave is good fun. Big fan of Merida over here.🤓 I also find Hotel Transylvania quite refreshing.

Frozen isn’t one of my favourites because I’m not overly enthused by musicals, but I do understand the hype. I look forward to watching Migration upon release and sharing my thoughts. 🦆🦆🤓🦆

  3. I am so looking forward to this one. Aside from Illumination Studios enlisting Minions in ads to help promote the film, I also love the new Jersey Mike’s commercial with company spokesperson Danny DeVito, who also happens to voice one of the characters in the film. It’s a clever spot, and certainly has helped generate more buzz for this movie.
