Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Mason Thames and Noah Cottrell star in Monster Summer, an adventure/horror/mystery directed by David Henrie.
At the sent is the story of a mysterious force. One that disrupts Noah and his friends’ much-anticipated summer fun.
This is giving me R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps, but potentially better.
It already looks as though the young actors have been well cast. As such, I’m down for the nostalgic scares that almost certainly won’t induce nightmares. I’m also curious about the story of the monster.
Lastly, I haven’t given much thought to this idea, but, I think it would be quite fun to be like the Mel Gibson character in real life; someone harmless that children find terrifying because of rumours that got out of hand. I can tell you agree.
Monster Summer Release Dates: October 4th, 2024 (US)…
Happy Film Loving,
G
an example I can think of that fits this is the boo radley character in ‘to kill a mockingbird.’
Absolutely. Thatβs a great example!
Totallyπ―
This has me in a nostalgic mood for similar reasons.
Yes, it sure does have a certain vibe. π€
Yep, looks like fun! Stranger Things with a different type of mystery villain. 80s nostalgia is still in fashion! π
I’ve never watched Stranger Things, so that reference didn’t come to mind. Now that you’ve said it, it does make sense.
Oh, you have to. Seriously, what are you waiting!? π
The delay is that I hear it’s quite scary, and I like peaceful sleep. π€
Oh no, nothing nightmare inducing. Itβs about a group of young kids so really no excuse! π
Otherwise βNo soup for you!β π
π Assuming that you’re using a Seinfeld reference, just as well that soup has never been my favourite. Especially the blended kind.
Nevertheless, one day, with the mood just right, I may finally visit the 80s via Stranger things via ST. The least I’ll do is try.
No, Stranger Things is pretty scary. It gets progressively more intense and gory each season. One is still the best.
Oh, my! Thanks for the heads up. With that in mind, if I ever start to watch it, it will be in broad daylight, long before bedtime.
I said “No soup for you!” to a co-worker recentlyπ
π
If the line fits. π
It’s one of my favourite episodes along with ‘Little Kicks’ and the one with the ‘Low Talker.’
P.S. During the trailer I was also thinking from the perspective of the adult. Nostalgia, but now we are watching from the other side. π
Yes! π We have lived one side of the experience and now it’s time for the other. Fun ahead indeed.
Yeah, I got a Stranger Things vibe too, should be a fun one!
I see. Perhaps after watching this, I’ll finally give Stranger Things a try. Well, as long as it’s not too scary because I’ve heard some things. π€
I got into the first 2 seasons of Stranger, but then I lost interest, and it got a little too freaky!
βToo freaky,β you say? π€ Intriguingβ¦ and also a little more than slightly alarming. π Weβll see how brave I get.
Total Stranger Things Rip-Off, which I have zero problem with lol
πππ! Imitation is the purest form of flattery, as they say. Or something like that.
