Read my spoiler-free movie review of Superman (2025).
Director James Gunn’s Superman reboot has a good-looking new trailer, starring Nicolas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan, David Corenswet and Isabela Merced.
It’s likely safe to say that Corenswet is a good choice for Superman. Nevertheless, after watching this trailer, Hoult’s Lex Luthor is who I can’t wait to see. I’m hoping I don’t find myself arrested by his performance, the way I was by Heath Ledger’s Joker, because spending more than half the movie desperately wanting your favourite character to reappear on screen again and again is not that fun.
Who has you most enchanted, the villain or our hero?
Milly Alcock, Wendell Pierce, Mikaela Hoover, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Skyler Gisondo, Terence Rosemore, Will Reeve, Sean Gunn her, Christopher McDonald, Anthony Carrigan and Loren Qualls also star.
Superman Release Dates: July 11th, 2025, (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

SUPER exciting. Corenswet is bringing that lighthearted confidence Chrisopher Reeves brought to the character. And Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luther has potential to be a show stealer. Can’t wait!🦸🏻♂️
Agreed! July is just around the corner now, Sort of. 🥳
We can safely say that Nicholas is in his villain era. Actors have always said they’re more fun to play.
He has the gift/curse
I see it. 😁
I like this for him. 🤓🥂
The trailer is amazing. I can’t wait to see the star of a new era of the DC cinematic universe.I was not blown away by this version of Lex, but I’ll wait and see before saying more. 🙂
Yes, seeing the finished film is when we’ll all know, for sure. 🤓🤞
Heath Ledger’s Joker was terrifying, I am a superman fan!
I hear you. Looking forward to being immersed in the world of it all. 🤓 🥳
Cautiously optimistic as usual. David Corenswet has the right Superman look and feel, so I’m fine with him. I’m just glad we have a Lex Luthor that’s both bald and intimidating, so Nicholas Hoult always felt like the best choice.
Such truth, you speak. 😊
Hoult was so good in Mad Max. When an actor can do so much with so little dialogue always blows me away
Exactly! The prolonged silences are where the great truly shine.
Yes!
