WAKE UP DEAD MAN – A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY (2025): New Trailer From Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Wake Up Dead Man – A Knives Out Mystery(2025).

Caught

Danger is the key word for writer/director Rian Johnson’s latest Knives Out instalment, Wake Up Dead Man – A Knives Out Mystery.

Daniel Craig returns as detective Benoit Blanc to solve the latest case, and new cast members include Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Mila Kunis and Josh Brolin.

What a wonderful mix of talented actors. I’m hoping to be surprised by who the guilty party is. Though this trailer does seem to suggest that O’Connor’s character is not so innocent.

Are you also looking forward to Craig’s Benoit Blanc working it all out?

Daryl McCormack, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Thomas Haden Church, Kerry Frances and Annie Hamilton also star.

Wake Up Dead Man – A Knives Out Mystery Release Dates: December 12, 2025 (US & UK)…

We have a new heist movie starring Wahlberg, Keegan-Michael Key, LaKeith Stanfield and Rosa Salazar coming up.

From director Shane Black, Wahlberg plays a ruthless thief who stumbles upon a major heist.

This is just the kind of fun, light-hearted action I have time for lately. I also tend to enjoy Wahlberg in action roles like this. The talented Stanfield and Salazar don’t hurt either. I’m read.

Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Gretchen Mol, Thomas Jane, Tony Shalhoub, Hemky Madera, Alejandro Edda and Claire Lovering also star.

Play Dirty Release Dates: October 1st 2025 (US + UK)…

THE NAKED GUN – FROM THE FILES OF POLICE SQUAD! (1988): The Things I Liked…

The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad! (1988), Leslie Nielsen, Paramount Pictures
The Naked Gun – From the Files of Police Squad! (1988), Leslie Nielsen, Paramount Pictures

I finally watched The Naked Gun – From the Files of Police Squad! And immediately, I knew I’d picked the right film, as the thoughts, such baffonery’ and ‘Hello, levityentered my mind as I smiled and giggled.

Directed by David Zucker; Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, Ricardo Montalban, and O.J. Simpson are among the key cast of this most charming and entertaining comedy/crime film. One about the adventures of Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen), an incompetent Police officer let loose on the streets of L.A.

I enjoyed all the silliness and physical comedy, including the smart use of stunt dummies. As for the one thing I didn’t like? That would be the instances of Wilma’s tearless wailing, which thankfully, only happened at the start. Maybe one day I’ll stop letting tearless crying in film bother me. That day hasn’t quite arrived yet, clearly.

You probably already have, and more than once, but if not, enjoy The Naked Gun – From the Files of Police Squad! You may not think ‘Hello, levity’ and ‘such buffoonery’. But you’ll likely smile and giggle.

AFTER THE HUNT (2025): New Trailer Starring Ayo Edebiri, Julia Roberts, Chloë Sevigny, Andrew Garfield…

After The Hunt (2025), Andrew Garfield, Amazon MGM Studios

After the Hunt has Julia Roberts playing a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads, after her star student accuses a colleague of assault.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, additional key cast includes Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield and Chloë Sevigny.

This cast is quite the pleasant surprise. I look forward to Roberts, Edebiri and Garfield playing seemingly unlikable characters.

Also, this already appears to be quite well-written, which is great. I mean, it should be fun to watch a Gen X, Gen Z and a Millennial in intellectual battle, no?

Thaddea Graham, Bella Glanville, Will Price, Lio Mehiel, Christine Dye, Ariyan Kassam, Cameron Krogh Stone, Nigel Finnissy and Summer Knox also star.

SOVEREIGN (2025): New Trailer Starring Jacob Tremblay, Nick Offerman, Dennis Quaid…

Sovereign (2025), Jacob Tremblay, Nick Offerman, Briarcliff Entertainment
Sovereign (2025), Jacob Tremblay, Nick Offerman, Briarcliff Entertainment

From writer/director Christian Swegal, Sovereign is a crime/drama/thriller about a manhunt involving father/son anti-government extremists and the police.

Jacob Tremblay, Nick Offerman and Dennis Quaid are the key cast.

Offerman in a full-blown dramatic role is something to see. Fans (me included) of his great work as Ron Swanson on hit comedy series Parks and Recreation (2009–2015) will no doubt be intrigued, if the top YouTube comments for this trailer are anything to go by.

It’s always sad to see a child pulled into his unhinged parent’s shenanigans. As heavy as the premise is, I’m curious to see the ever-talented Tremblay continue to do great work.

I wonder if the story will explain what led to Offerman’s character’s current predicaments.

Are you ready for a fully snapped Swanson?

Megan Mullally, Kezia DaCosta, Ruby Wolf, Chris Greene, Jade Fernandez, Buddy Campbell, Bobby Gilchrist and Terry J. Nelson also star.

Sovereign Release Dates: July 11th, 2025 (US)…
