Guy Richie directs Mena Massoud, Billy Magnussen, Will Smith and Naomi Scott in Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin.

The following trailer is just a teaser but in case you forgot, the story of Aladdin starts when a sultan gives his daughter, Jasmine three days to find a husband. She escapes the palace and encounters the street-savvy Aladdin who charms his way into her heart.

For a moment there, I was thinking, ‘Are they really not going to show any footage at all?’ and then the scene with the lamp happened, and though it’s hardly anything, I was happier than expected.

I didn’t actually realise I’d forgotten most of Aladdin’s story until I looked up the synopsis. Time to rewatch the animated version, I think.

Nasim Pedrad, Marwan Kenzari, Numan Acar, Kamil Lemieszewski and Navid Negahban also star.

Directed by Ari Sandel, the first trailer for the Goosebumps sequel, Goosebumps 2 – Haunted Halloween is here and it looks so much like the TV show version twelve year-old me used to love.

Key cast includes Madison Iseman, Caleel Harris, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ken Jeong, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

I haven’t read a Goosebumps book since I was probably 14 years old, and this trailer really takes me back.

I don’t know about you, but I’m quite sure I’d probably be happy about being ‘attacked’ by gummy bears. I, of course, mean me now, and not twelve-year-old me, who would likely be plagued with nightmares if that came to pass.

I want to watch so I can be taken back to the after-school viewing habits of my youth.

Directed by Tim Burton, Dumbo is Disney’s re-telling of the story of an elephant ridiculed for his big ears. Ears he’s in fact able to use as wings and fly.

Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito star.

I remember the Dumbo story only vaguely and this trailer has me only a little bit curious.

Directed by Silas Howard, A Kid Like Jake stars Claire Danes, Jim parsons, Octavia Spencer and Priyanka Chopra.

Parsons and Danes play a Brooklyn based couple whose four-year-old son’s preschool director points out that his gender-nonconforming play may be more than just a phase.

The subject matter is so very interesting and it’s a great reminder of why I love movies and the often useful stories they tell.

Besides the great cast and promising story, I’m looking forward to the beautiful images of a well-lit New York City, a place I always miss when I’m not there.

During the German air raid bombings of Belfast in 1941, young Tom and his misfit friends fought to save ‘Buster’ a baby elephant at Belfast Zoo.

Written/directed by Colin McIvor, Zoo is based on a true story and stars Art Parkinson, Toby Jones, Penelope Wilton and Ian McElhinney.

This one is for fans of big elephants (my favourite grey creatures). I also want to know which of the elephants in this movie are CGI, if not all.
