THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS (2016): Fun, Funny, Cute…

The Secret Life Of Pets (2016), Gidget (Jenny Slate)

Initially, based on all The Secret Life Of Pets trailers that were released over the last several months, I was certain I’d identify most with Chloe. But then, I saw just how much of a badass the cute, fluffy Pomeranian Gidget is. I’m sure I’m not ‘reaching’ too hard here but my own name does start with a G.

Now that you agree about Gidget and me being so alike, let’s move on. I’ve seen plenty of Kevin Hart’s stand-up comedy, a truth that makes me super familiar with his very recognisable voice. I wasn’t sure that his voice was the best fit for a cute, fluffy, gangster white rabbit. However, considering where the story goes, I see why he was chosen. I barely forgot that I was listening to Hart deliver his character’s lines. But I really enjoyed the story, so it didn’t remove too much from the good time I was most certainly having.

I adore the cute animals, especially Max, Gidget and Tiberius. I also  particularly enjoyed Louis C.K.’s voice work.

The Secret Life Of Pets is fun, funny and very, very cute. So, if you haven’t already, watch it.

FINDING DORY (2016): The Things I Liked…

Finding Dory (2016), Nemo (Centre)

Finding Dory is a movie you watch because you love the characters in Finding Nemo (2003), and want to spend more time with them. You will certainly have a good time. Nevertheless, the original will likely remain number one in your heart, and very little about Finding Dory is going to feel fresh and new.

One of the things about Finding Dory that does feel quite different comes in the shape of Frank the octopus, a smart and fun, red/orange creature. I also particularly enjoyed the ‘Where’s Frank’ game at the very end.

Another highlight involves a truck and the sea. It’s a beautiful, moving scene that feels reminiscent of a memorable moment in Inception (2010).

Watch Finding Dory for the nostalgia and because it’s not a bad sequel as sequels go.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS (2016) New Trailer With Kevin Hart As The Voice Of ‘Snowball…’

You loved the teaser trailer for The Secret Life of Pets, Now it’s time for a character trailer, featuring Kevin Hart as ‘cute little bunny,’ Snowball.

I definitely found the first trailer more amusing. I’m also not sure that Kevin Hart sounds quite right as the voice of Snowball. But of course, we shall see once the movie arrives. What are you thoughts and feelings? I wonder.

Along with Nemo, Marlin and Dory, I’d also really like to be reunited with the family of turtles met by Dory and Marlin, en route to Sydney Harbour. That would make me very happy indeed.

CONCUSSION (2015): Intense New Trailer With Will Smith As Dr. Bennet Omalu

Concussion (2015), Will Smith

I knew this public holiday had to gift me with a great new trailer. And it has, for Will Smith has a brand new movie.

I can’t wait to see this, first because it looks good, and second, Smith sounds absolutely nothing like himself, therefore making for an even more satisfying transformation for the spectator.

Concussion is written and directed by Peter Landesman, the man responsible for 2014’s Kill The messenger starring Jeremy Renner.

Alec Baldwin and British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw also star, along with Stephen Moyer, Luke Wilson and Albert Brooks.

Due for release stateside on December 25th (2015) and January 29th (2016) for the U.K.
