THE FINEST HOURS (2016): New Trailer Starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck & Eric Bana

Based on a true story, The Finest Hours is about a group of men whose jobs will remind you that what you do for a living probably isn’t that bad. At least, that’s what went through my mind as I watched the below trailer.

A rescue mission at sea is at the centre of The Finest Hours. Starring Chris Pine, Holliday Grainger, Ben Foster, Casey Affleck, Kyle Gallner, and Eric Bana, I’m expecting plenty of drama, action and I’m sure, breaks of several kinds.

Craig Gillespie, director of one of my favourite Ryan Gosling movies, Lars & The Real Girl (2007) is the man in charge.

I don’t usually write about 15 second teaser trailers, but the one for Warcraft looks rather good – and yes, it’s based on that very popular video game by Blizzard Entertainment.

Directed by Duncan Jones; Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Dominic Cooper and Toby Kebbell are the stars.

I’m certainly not a gamer, though I think the full trailer may have convinced me to watch this, and hopefully like it.

THE PROGRAM (2015): New Trailer For Lance Armstrong Doping Scandal Biopic

Ben Foster, Chris O’Dowd and Guillaume Canet are the stars of Stephen Frears’s latest, The Program,  the film adaptation of former road racing cyclist Lance Armstrong’s fall from grace.

I actually wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about the first trailer when it was released a few months ago. Reasons included doubts as to whether Foster actually sounds like Armstrong. I’m still not convinced that he really does but this new trailer is definitely better.

I don’t feel quite ready for a movie version of a story that was only recently told by the documentary, The Armstrong Lie (2013). However, I’m presuming it will be interesting to see dramatisations of events we’ve so far only been told about. Foster will likely do a good job of portraying Armstrong even if I feel like he didn’t get the voice quite right.

I’m most looking forward to seeing Irish actor Chris O’Dowd excel in a serious dramatic role.

Dustin Hoffman, Jesse Plemons Elaine Cassidy and Bryan Greenberg also star.

The Program Release Dates: October 16th 2015 (UK & US)
