In new crime/thriller The Equalizer 2, Denzel Washington returns as Robert McCall, a man more than ready to serve up long overdue justice for the exploited and oppressed.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, other key cast includes Pedro Pascal, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman.

I had so much fun watching the first movie. I’m therefore glad that this new instalment seems to have more than enough of what made the first film special.

Jonathan Scarfe, Sakina Jaffrey and Ashton Sanders also star.

In LBJ, Woody Harrelson stars as the President of the United States of America.

Directed by Rob Reiner, the drama/biography tells the true story of Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ), from his young days in West Texas to his time in the White House.

I want to see this so I can marvel at the seemingly great prosthetics on Harrelson’s face. I’m also curious about the story since it’s, in a way the other version of events that we didn’t get to see in Jackie (2016).

At this moment in time however, I may  need a break from movies set at The White House. You see, I’m half way through season three of House Of Cards and my goodness is it dark and intense!

Directed by Roland Emmerich; starring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, William Fichtner, Bill pullman and Maika Monroe, the trailer for Independence Day – Resurgence has arrived.

When I watched the original Independence Day (1996) movie, the one  about the fight against an alien invasion of earth, I vaguely recall a young Will Smith’s famous charisma going a long way to making the film worth dedicating two hours.

This time round, aliens are once again coming to invade and destroy planet. I wonder how the story will fair without a Smith-like comedic presence.

Fingers crossed that we’ll all be impressed by more than just the special effects.

I’m hoping that  Kristen Stewart and Jessie Eisenberg’s new film, American Ultra ends up delivering all the thrills suggested in this fun looking, mad and chaotic trailer.

Directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X (2012), the film appears to be one of those stoner comedy/adventure types; kind of like one of my favourites, Pineapple Express (2008). Wouldn’t that be just great?

I’m looking forward to seeing both Stewart and Eisenberg in these different looking roles, compared to their usual work.

John Leguizamo, Topher Grace and Connie Britton also star.
