A second trailer from directing brothers Joe and Anthony Russo has landed for the 2016 instalment of Marvel’s Captain America.

I like the first trailer more than the second, thanks to the music and the circumstances of the the characters involved. I’ll watch Captain America Civil War for this reason, and for another chance to see Chris Evans’ portrayal of the rather admirable Steve Rogers.

This instalment of the franchise doesn’t seem to be about saving the world, but more about Captain America’s relationship with his childhood friend, Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, and how that effects others including Robert Downey Junior’s Iron Man.

Beyond the above, my personal level of excitement when it comes to superhero movies has definitely dwindled over time. That’s what happens in most instances when you’re fed the same kind of thing repeatedly and with minimal respite. At this time, I find myself actually looking forward to the time when this particular series of the Captain America Story is wrapped up. Still, that doesn’t mean I wont enjoy it if it’s good.

AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON (2015): It’s Really For The Comic Book Fans…

Avengers - Age of Ultron (2015), Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth

I’m not a comic book reader myself, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed The Avengers, back in 2012.

The main reason I was excited after seeing the trailer – for the sequel is James Spader’s Ultron voice and dialogue. When I did finally watch the movie, I found myself selfishly wanting more screen time for Ultron. He just seemed a lot more interesting than all the other characters; perhaps in part because he’s new to me.

As for how I feel about the film overall, director Joss Whedon hasn’t delivered a bad movie. It just felt slow in parts and I found the dialogue about Thor’s hammer at the rather awkward party to be repetitive. Additionally, I’ve become bored of the film’s heroes and tired of the same ‘the world needs saving’ dramatics.

Besides the film’s villain, Ultron, during the short periods he was actually on screen, I did enjoy Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal of The Incredible Hulk and the main fight scene between Hulk and Ultron. Beyond that, however, saying that I found the movie’s trailer more thrilling than the finished film is, unfortunately, more true than not.

The fact is, it may actually be time for me to leave Avengers to the serious fans who really love the comic books. I say this because it’s unlikely that superhero movie fatigue will ever be a real thing for them. Tuning in to a brand new Avengers movie, for me, will likely be about the hope of seeing a seriously badass scene; like the lift sequence in Captain America: A Winter Soldier (2014) and the majorly thrilling vehicular pursuit of Nick Fury that followed in the same movie.

Watch Avengers – Age of Ultron if you really must, and to enjoy the above-mentioned highlights.

BEFORE WE GO (2015): New York City-Based Romance With Chris Evans & Alice Eve

Before We Go (2014), Chris Evans, Alice Eve
Before We Go (2014), Chris Evans, Alice Eve

Starring Chris Evans, an Actor best known for his role as Marvel’s Captain America and British Actress Alice Eve, Before We Go is a drama/romance  about two people that meet on the subway in New York City.

Something reminiscent of Richard Linklater’s brilliant film, Before Sunrise (2004) is what I’m thinking of after watching this trailer. As such, I look forward to seeing how this particular story unfolds. Even more so because this is Evans’ directorial debut.

Lastly, isn’t the trailer music lovely?

AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON (2015): James Spader’s Voice… *Sigh

If you thought the first trailer for Marvel’s Avengers – Age of Ultron was good, there’s more. Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man – all the Avengers are great. But as the movie title states. This is all about Ultron.

I’m going to tear you apart… from the inside

Really hear these words delivered by the wonderfully voiced James Spader (Ultron), and I think you’ll agree that evil has never sounded so good. To think I once believed ‘There are no strings on me from the first trailer was the best line.
