In new drama / thriller Serenity, Matthew McConaughey is a fishing boat captain living in the Caribbean whose life is interrupted when his past comes back to haunt him…

From writer / director Steven Knight; Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane and Djimon Hounsou  star…

The genre, talent and setting all appeal to me. I also like that this movie appears to be a change of pace for at least one of the cast.

All I want now is for the ‘lies beneath the surface’ to be worth the run time. Writer / director Steven Knight did write my favourite Tom Hardy movie (Locke 2013), so there is hope.

Additional cast includes Jeremy Strong, Jason Clarke and Kenneth Fok.

Serenity Release Dates: October 19th, 2018 (US)…

INSIDE OUT (2015): For The Well Imagined Characters & Clever Story

Inside Out (2015), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Sadness (Philis Smith), Joy (Amy Poehler)
Inside Out (2015), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Sadness (Philis Smith), Joy (Amy Poehler)

Inside Out is an intelligent animated film about a young girl (Riley) and her emotions. Particularly how Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust try to agree on the best way to get through Riley’s days after her surroundings change unexpectedly.

Directed by Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen; Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black provide the key character voices.

Being an animated movie, cuteness was always likely; but my, oh my is Sadness the cutest! Watch it for a little education on how memories work, why each one is important and Amy Poehlers wonderfully hopeful voice.

Trumbo (2015), Bryan Cranston
Trumbo (2015), Bryan Cranston

A new trailer arrives for a movie about the movie business in the 1940s…

Directed by Jay Roach; Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren, Louis C.K., Diane Lane and John Goodman are all great reasons to watch. Other reasons include all the beautiful words / dialogue, including the following…

Nobody has the right to tell you how to write, act, pray, speak, vote, protest, love work, create, talk, live or  think

Happy Trumbo 🙂

Release dates 6th November 2015 (U.S.), 22nd January 2016 (U.K.)

BATMAN v SUPERMAN – DAWN OF JUSTICE (2016): Official Trailer

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Ben Affleck
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Ben Affleck

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg and  Gal Gadot as Wonder woman, the DC Comics’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie  trailers look good…

Trailer 1

Trailer 2

Intense, interesting are two words that come to mind. I’ll be watching for reasons including the seemingly promising dialogue. Though, I do wonder how much longer it’s going to be before comic book movie fatigue sets in on a large scale, if it does. Either way, right now it’s the fans who really, REALLY love these stories that I’m most excited for.

Perhaps Wonder woman will get the two  superheroes to work together. Quite likely.

Release Date (s): March 24th, 2016 (FR & GER); March 25th, 2016 (US & UK)…

EVERY SECRET THING (2014) Trailer Of The Week

Like a great film, great trailers are not easy to make.

Every Secret Thing (2014), Elizabeth Banks
Every Secret Thing (2014), Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks, Diane Lane and Dakota Fanning are the stars of the latest brilliant trailer. It’s so interesting that I’m more than ready to watch the movie right this minute.

See for yourself…

It’s good because of the editing, music atmosphere, stars and the masterful tease.

Happy Every Secret Thing 🙂
