Eighth Grade is a comedy about Kayla, a teenager trying to survive the last week of her disastrous eighth-grade year before leaving to start high school.

I don’t know much about the American school system, but I’ve definitely heard that high school is ‘the worst.’ With that said, I hope that Kayla won’t find out that high school is actually the real ‘disaster.’

I like this trailer. I’m excited about the film’s potential usefulness because of the way it covers some of the truth of the eighth grade experience, plus its focus on the subject of being authentically oneself. The trailer shows us a teacher getting involved in ‘dabbing’ and another teacher using the slang of her students to fit in. Clearly, even the adults need to learn to ‘be themselves.’
