HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (2025): New Trailer Starring Gerard Butler, Mason Thames, Nico Parker…

Mason Thames, Gerard Butler and Nico Parker make up the main cast for the live-action film How To Train Your Dragon (HTTYD), a DreamWorks animation.

Based on the books by Cressida Cowell and directed by Dean DeBlois, HTTYD follows a young Viking with aspirations to hunt dragons. That is until he befriends one.

My taste in animated movies is quite specific, and HTTYG never appealed because it didn’t quite fit the criteria until this new trailer.

Perhaps it’s the sight of Butler, coupled with his great voice. Honestly, it’s mainly the father/son dynamic. I’m curious how Butler’s character will come to terms with his non-dragon-killing Viking son. I like stories about people getting the acceptance they need. I’m guessing that’s where this story will be going.

Will you be tuning in? It’s okay if a key reason happens to be Butler.

GREENLAND (2020): The Things I Liked…

Starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Andrew Bachelor, Greenland is not a terrible action/thriller, one about a family’s struggle to survive in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh; I generally have no complaints about the special effects or the performances. The only reason I wouldn’t call Greenland a great movie is linked to elements of the story edit and how the movie feels a tad longer than it needed to be.

Additionally, I may be expecting far too much from the government here, yet, I remain unconvinced that they’d have handled the ‘notification of selection’ quite as carelessly as they seem to in this movie.   

Even though Greenland isn’t perfect, I found it adequately entertaining. As such, give it a chance if you’re curious, and especially if you’re into disaster movies/good special effects.

After all the disaster movies I’ve seen over the years, one thing I know is that who you know and the secret information you have access to often determine how well you fare in a crisis.

I’m in for what looks to be a well paced action thriller with great special effects.

Gary Weeks, Madison Johnson, Hayes Mercure, Roger Dale Floyd, Rick Pasqualone, Mike Gassaway and Kendrick Cross also star.

In Angel Has Fallen, Gerard Butler is back as Secret Service Agent Mike Banning. Banning is framed for the attempted assassination of the President (Morgan Freeman), and as he tries to uncover the real threat, he must evade his own agency and the FBI.

Directed by  Ric Roman Waugh; additional key cast includes Piper Perabo, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Tim Blake Nelson.

I really do love a good chase movie and this appears to be precisely that.

Lance Reddick, Chris Browning, Danny Huston, Michael Landes, Sarah-Stephanie and Sophia Del Pizzo also star.

In new action/thriller Hunter Killer, the Russian president has been kidnapped by a rogue general, and it’s the job of an untested American submarine captain to work with U.S. Navy Seals for the rescue effort.

Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Common and Michael Nyqvist star while Donovan Marsh directs.

More than a desire to see how the story unfolds, what I really want is some submarine time without having to actually be in a submarine.

There’s also the special effects, plus, I’m a Butler, Common and Oldman fan. Lastly, I like the title.
