Tolkien is the new biography/drama about J. R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit.

Starring Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins and Mimi Keene; director Dome Karukoski’s film will explore the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among fellow outcasts at school.

Trailer 2

On account of fantasy not being my favourite genre (though I am quite curious about this Tolkien story), I’m more excited for big fans of The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit movies.

I just need to find out if I react to Tolkien the same way I did to The Lord Of The Rings movies. By which I mean, I was, dare I say, underwhelmed.

EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE (2019): New Trailer From Zac Efron, Lily Collins, Angela Sarafyan, John Malkovich…

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019), Zac Efron, Lily Collins

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)

Starring Zac Efron, Lily Collins, Angela Sarafyan and John Malkovich, the story of Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile is told from the perspective of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is a new Joe Berlinger-directed biography/crime/thriller that chronicles the crimes of American serial killer Ted Bundy.

I want to believe I’ll be more impressed with the finished film than I currently am with the music choice and edit of this trailer, not that it’s terrible.

I also haven’t yet figured out whether releasing this trailer around the same time as the Netflix Ted Bundy documentary is a good idea. Either way, I want Efron to do well in this role.

Kaya Scodelario, Haley Joel Osment, Jeffrey Donovan and Jim Parsons also star.

TO THE BONE (2017): New Trailer From Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, Carrie Preston, Liana Liberato…

In To the Bone, which stars Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, Carrie Preston and Liana Liberato, Collins plays a young woman dealing with anorexia. A woman for whom hope comes in the shape of an unconventional doctor (Keanu Reeves).

I’m interested to take in what this movie has to say about anorexia and how it says it.

If I’m really honest, though, another big reason I’ll tune in is because I loved Carrie Preston’s character (Elsbeth Tascioni) in the hit drama series The Good Wife (2009 – 2016) and I’m curious to see her in what looks like a very different type of role.

Written/directed by Marti Noxon, To the Bone also stars Lili Taylor, Brooke Smith and Hana Hayes.

To the Bone Release Dates: July 14th, 2017 (US)…

The official trailer looks great, and Gyllenhaal and Dano are in this. As such, not only am I hopeful, but I can feel that it’s likely going to be good.

RULES DON’T APPLY (2016): New Trailer From Warren Beatty, Lily Collins, Alden Ehrenreich…

Rules Don’t Apply (2016), Lily Collins, Annette Bening

Set in Hollywood in 1958, Rules Don’t Apply focuses on the relationship between three key characters working in Hollywood. Namely, an aspiring actress, her driver and the eccentric billionaire that employs them.

Alden Ehrenreich, Lilly Collins and Warren Beatty play the main roles. Beatty is also the film’s writer/director.

After finding that I didn’t quite enjoy the last movie I saw about Hollywood in the 1950s (Hail, Caesar! (2015), as much as I hoped I would, I’m not sure how this is going to turn out. Though, Annette Bening is one of my favourite actresses, thanks to American Beauty (1999). So, I guess we’ll see.

Annette Bening, Alec Baldwin and Chace Crawford also feature.

Rules Don’t Apply Release Dates: November, 2016 (US)…
