I saw a cast list that included Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon, which led me to immediately watch the new trailer for the Liza Johnson-directed comedy,  Elvis & Nixon.

In terms of the casting, at first I thought, ‘What? Michael Shannon? As Elvis?’ But then I finished watching the trailer.

Shannon certainly doesn’t bear much of a facial resemblance to Elvis Presley, but, it does look like he’s succeeded in all the other key areas. I say this having not heard him sing. In fact, I’m not even sure that he’ll sing at all in the film. I’ll be watching for the comedy and the two great lead actors.

Evan Peters, Colin Hanks and Alex Pettyfer also star.
