The new highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049 movie is coming in October 2017. Directed by Denis Villeneuve; starring Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto and Harrison Ford, I’m quite sure that you’ve already seen the visual feast that is the film’s trailer.

Still, it’s worth it to scroll on through the following memorable images that showcase some of the gorgeous cinematography.

And by the end? The trailer you shall find, of course.

ALWAYS SHINE (2016): For Mackenzie Davis’s Performance…

Always Shine (2016), Mackenzie Davis
Always Shine (2016), Mackenzie Davis

Starring Mackenzie Davis and Caitlin Fitzgerald as so-called friends, Always Shine is an example of what can happen when jealousy between friends gets out of control.

Davis’s portrayal of a jealous friend is definitely my favourite thing about Always Shine. Neither of the two lead characters comes across as perfect. And I’m surprised to realise that up until this movie, I don’t think I’d ever seen a friendship up close that was so believably poisonous and shady. The talented cast and director Sophia Takal did a wonderful job of creating tension in key moments.

Admittedly, towards the end, I did get lost when trying to figure out precisely what was going on in those key scenes, and all that it meant.

Still, I say watch Always Shine for Davis’s very memorable performance, and perhaps you’ll be able to kindly explain to me what the ending is all about.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas and Jared Leto, the sequel for Blade Runner (1982) is coming in 2017.

In the new instalment, the year is 2049 – three decades after the events of the original film, there’s a new blade runner in town and after he unearths a long standing and potentially dangerous secret, he must seek out the original blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

Trailer 2

Is it bad that a massive film enthusiast such as myself has never watched Blade Runner? Even worse, perhaps, I always thought the title ‘Blade Runner‘ belonged to an Arnold Schwarzenegger action/thriller movie?

Now that one of my favourite directors of recent years is attached to this film, along with Gosling, I know I really need to get firmly on board so as not to miss out.

ALWAYS SHINE (2016): New Trailer From Mackenzie Davis, Caitlin FitzGerald, Lawrence Michael Levine…

Always Shine stars Mackenzie Davis, Lawrence Michael Levine and Caitlin FitzGerald. Directed by Sophia Takal, it’s a thriller with competition and jealousy between best friends at its heart.

Interesting subject matter, jealousy. It’s part of the human condition but as is the case with most things, it’s really what you do with it that matters most.

Based on this trailer, it looks like at least one of the characters lets the emotion take over, and so comes the darkness.

Always Shine Release Dates: December 2nd, 2016 (US)…

WHAT IF (2013): For The Comedy & Relatable Love & Life Challenges

What If (2013), Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan
What If (2013), Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan,

Thanks to good writing and a very talented cast, What If is funny, kind of kooky, possesses an uncommon realness and features a well chosen musical score.

Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Driver, Zoe Kazan, Rafe Spall, Meghan Park and Mackenzie Davis are the stars of this Michael Dowse-directed comedy/romance.

Kazan, an actress I’ve loved since the beautiful Ruby Sparks (2012) is as adorable as ever, and the chemistry between her character and that played by Radcliffe is certainly convincing.

What If is a movie you watch for the comedy, the relatable predicaments faced by the characters and the useful wisdom about life and love. Watch it and see.

Happy Film Loving,

G
