After the Hunt has Julia Roberts playing a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads, after her star student accuses a colleague of assault.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, additional key cast includes Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield and Chloë Sevigny.

This cast is quite the pleasant surprise. I look forward to Roberts, Edebiri and Garfield playing seemingly unlikable characters.

Also, this already appears to be quite well-written, which is great. I mean, it should be fun to watch a Gen X, Gen Z and a Millennial in intellectual battle, no?

Thaddea Graham, Bella Glanville, Will Price, Lio Mehiel, Christine Dye, Ariyan Kassam, Cameron Krogh Stone, Nigel Finnissy and Summer Knox also star.

Shirley is a new biography/thriller about renowned horror writer Shirley Jackson.

Starring Elisabeth Moss, Michael Stuhlbarg and Logan Lerman, the story centres around the source of inspiration for Jackson’s next book; a young couple that Jackson and her husband invite into their home.

Directed by Josephine Decker; additional key cast includes Odessa Young and Steve Vinovich.

I’m watching because it’s Moss, Lerman, plus, it’s a biography, which means I’m expecting the truth to be stranger than fiction.

Ryan Spahn, Molly Fahey, Adelind Horan, Emily Decker, Ava Langford, Edward O’Blenis and Thomas Racek also star.

Shirley Release Dates: June 5th, 2020 (US)…

THE SHAPE OF WATER (2017): New Trailer From Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon, Sally Hawkins, Michael Stuhlbarg…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Shape of Water (2017).

Lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) works in a hidden high-security government laboratory and is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Her life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.

Also starring Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones, The Shape Of Water is an other-worldly fairy tale set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963.

Director Guillermo del Toro is all the reason I need to watch this one, but I’ll add the cast and the intriguing ‘secret experiment’ to the list of motivators.

For some reason, when I read the words ‘high-security government laboratory’ and ‘secret classified experiment,’ Captain America – The First Avenger (2011) came to mind. Anyone else? Just me? Ok.

MILES AHEAD (2015): New Trailer Starring Ewan McGregor, Don Cheadle…

Miles Ahead (2015), Don Cheadle as Miles Davis
Miles Ahead (2015), Don Cheadle as Miles Davis

Exploring the life and music of celebrated jazz musician, Miles Davis; Miles Ahead is directed by, and stars Don Cheadle.

I like the approach taken with this trailer, the style, editing and pace is very engaging.

It also looks like Mr. Davis had quite the sense of humour. Something that must have been fun to be around. Except of course, if you’ve wronged him in any way. Bring on the great music music.

Ewan Mcgregor and Emayatzy Corinealdi also star.

Miles Ahead Release Date(s): April 1st, 2016 (US); April 22nd, 2016 (UK)…
