BALLERINA (2025): New Trailer Starring Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus…

Ana de Armas is Eve, a.k.a. Ballerina, a female assassin from the world of John Wick. Eve’s mission is to seek revenge against those who killed her family.

Directed by Len Wiseman; additional key cast includes Keanu Reeves, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Norman Reedus.

I’m sure this will be entertaining and de Armas will be great. However, even though I’m quite partial to stories of vengeance, I’m starting to wonder how many more assassin movies I can watch before serious fatigue properly sets in.

I remember starting to feel similarly about superhero films some years ago. Now, unfortunately, I tend to ignore most of the new ones, with just one exception, Deadpool.

In a way, assassins are sort of superheroes. Their motivation is just usually more personal than focused on saving humanity.

Of course, I can understand why many will be watching Ballerina. But, I wonder, how much more time and energy do you still have for assassin films?

Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, David Castañeda, Gabriel Byrne, Anne Parillaud, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Abraham Popoola, Togo Igawa, Caleb Spillyards, Ava Joyce McCarthy and Jaroslav Vundrle also star.

Ballerina Release Dates: June 6th, 2025 (US); June 7th 2025 (UK)…

GHOSTED (2023): New Trailer From Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Amy Sedaris, Adrien Brody…

Something rather fun-looking has just arrived, and it’s not what you initially think it is; so be sure to stick with the Ghosted trailer through to the very end.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher; action/adventure/romance Ghosted stars Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Adrien Brody and Amy Sedaris in an exciting spy story partly set in London, England.

I’d been patiently waiting for a movie trailer that got me excited to express it audibly, and in a way that interrupts others a few feet away from me. This fun pairing of Evans and de Armas; the fact that Ghosted is an action/comedy with the kind of sense of humour I appreciate, plus a story that’s more surprising than expected has me feeling grateful.

All that’s left for me to do now is hope that the actual movie has me smiling as much, if not more than this delightful trailer. And so continues my strong lean towards movies with stories that make me happy rather than the opposite.

Are you also looking forward to Ghosted? What types of movies are you leaning towards these days? Or perhaps you generally don’t mind as long as it’s good, which is a great place to be.

Tate Donovan, Tim Blake Nelson, Mustafa Shakir, Marwan Kenzari, Lizze Broadway, Fahim Fazli, Mike Moh, Marisol Correa and Gina Jun also star.

Ghosted Release Dates: April 2023…

From writer/director Michael Cristofer, The Night Clerk is a new crime/drama about a voyeuristic, socially challenged hotel clerk who ends up as the main suspect in a murder investigation.

Ana de Armas, Tye Sheridan, Helen Hunt and John Leguizamo are the key cast.

I’ll be watching to see how Sheridan’s performance pans out. My other reasons for wanting to see this include Leguizamo and Hunt. I last saw Leguizamo in Chef (2014), which just happens to be one of my favourites.

Johnathon Schaech, Jacque Gray, Cindy Perez, Ischa Bee, D.L. Walker, Pam Eichner, Walter Platz and Stacey Ann Turner also star.

The Night Clerk Release Dates: February 21st, 2020 (US)…

No Time To Die, the latest James Bond action/thriller, stars Daniel Craig, Ana De Armas, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux and Lashana Lynch.

Having left active service, Bond’s new peace and quiet is short-lived when old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA comes asking for help.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga of Beasts of No Nation (2015), additional key cast includes Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz and Jeffrey Wright.

Hello, good-looking trailer. My countdown to April 2nd has officially begun. I think it’s time that Bond found himself a love outside of work. All the work-based encounters keep breaking his heart.

I wonder if Casino Royale (2006) will still be my favourite Bond movie after I’ve seen this.

Billy Magnussen, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, David Dencik, Lourdes Faberes and Ahmed Bakare also star.

No Time To Die Release Dates: October 8th, 2021 (US & UK)…
