Neil Burger, director of Limitless (2011) has a new action/sci-fi/thriller starring Colin Farrell, Tye Sheridan, Lily-Rose Depp and Isaac Hempstead Wright.

Voyagers follows a crew of astronauts on a multi-generational mission. one where they soon descend into paranoia and madness; finding themselves unsure of what is real or not.

I want to see where the paranoia leads. Especially since there doesn’t seem to be a real way out, given that they’re all in space.

Viveik Kalra, Fionn Whitehead, Archie Renaux, Chanté Adams, Madison Hu, Quintessa Swindell, Veronica Falcón, Rafi Wilder, Ioana Teodora Nimigean, Vlad Ionut Popescu and Miranda Phan also star.

From writer / director Michael Cristofer, The Night Clerk is a new crime / drama about a voyeuristic, socially challenged hotel clerk who ends up as the main suspect in a murder investigation.

Ana de Armas, Tye Sheridan, Helen Hunt and John Leguizamo star while Michael Cristofer directs…

I’ll be watching to see how Sheridan’s performance pans out. My other reasons for wanting to see this include Leguizamo and Hunt. I last saw Leguizamo in Chef (2014), which just happens to be one of my favourites.

Johnathon Schaech, Jacque Gray, Cindy Perez, Ischa Bee, D.L. Walker, Pam Eichner, Walter Platz and Stacey Ann Turner also star.

In The Mountain, Tye Sheridan is a young man who goes to work with a doctor (Jeff Goldblum) who specialises in lobotomies.

Directed and co-written by Rick Alverson; other key cast includes Hannah Gross, Denis Lavant, Udo Kier, Annemarie Lawless…

I’m in for the very interesting topic, lobotomies. There’s also the appeal of the creepy.

Goldblum and Sheridan are both great so I’m hoping that the movie overall proves highly engaging. Especially since the absence of colour is quite severe.

In Steven Spielberg’s latest movie Ready Player One, gamers compete inside a massive video game universe to find an ‘Easter egg’ (item, trivia or surprise buried within the game) hidden by the network’s recently deceased creator.

The finder of the Easter egg is promised the creator’s fortune. Soon enough Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) becomes the first player to successfully navigate the first level of the test, leading to a high-stakes international race to crack the game’s code. Based on the novel by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One also stars  Hannah John-Kamen, T.J. Miller, Ben Mendelsohn, Simon Pegg, Mark Rylance…

I haven’t read the book so my mind is threatening to race with all the twists, turns and obstacles the story is likely to have, in order to keep things interesting. The promising special effects is another key reason to watch. I refuse to let Spielberg’s last disappointing movie (The BFG, 2016) prevent me from getting excited. I am officially looking forward to this story.
