In new historical drama The King, Timothée Chalamet stars as Hal, a.k.a King Henry V of England. Previously a wayward prince, Hal ascends the English throne upon his father’s death, and must navigate the palace snake pit, chaos and inherited war against France.

Directed by David Michôd; key cast includes Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson, Joel Edgerton and Lily Rose Depp.

Hello, brilliant cast. I cannot wait for all the super acting and all the tensions that stem from being surrounded by people who underestimate you.

Sean Harris, Dean-Charles Chapman, Thomasin McKenzie, Ivan Kaye, Tom Glynn-Carney and Edward Ashley also star.

Starring Jamie Dornan, Jemima Kirke, Alice Eve and Ben Mendelsohn; writer/director Emma Forrest’s Untogether is a new drama about a recently sober writer with a stalled career, who starts an affair with a successful writer.

All the while, her sister finds herself drawn to a politically engaged rabbi while dating an ageing rocker.

Though this trailer doesn’t exactly have me yelping with joy, I’m curious to find out what the special thing about the story is. You know, the thing that made all the talented actors involved say ‘yes’ to the script.

This may just be what I’m in the mood for around Valentines Day.

Billy Crystal, Lola Kirke, Scott Caan, and Jennifer Grey also star.

A man retires from his job in finance and leaves his wife in the hopes that it will renew his lust for life, but things don’t quite go according to plan.

Written/directed by Nicole Holofcener, key cast includes Ben Mendelsohn, Edie Falco, Natalie Gold, Connie Britton and Thomas Mann.

I’m curious because the cast is good. I’m also intrigued by Mendelsohn’s American accent.

Lastly, my nosy side wants to know the secret Mendelsohn’s character seems to be hiding. There may be no secret at all, which would also be fine.

Riz Ahmed, Rooney Mara and Ben Mendelsohn’s latest film Una is based on the playwright David Harrower’s play Blackbird.

It’s a story about a young woman’s journey to reclaim her past after seeing the photo of a man she used to know as a young girl, she tracks him down and shows up unexpectedly.

This, I’m curious about because of the talented cast; Riz Ahmed was brilliant in Nightcrawler (2014), Ben Mendelsohn had a great turn in Starred Up (2013)  and last but not least, Rooney Mara, an actress I’ve only so far seen fully in The Social Network (2010).

Tobias Menzies, Tara Fitgerald and Isobelle Molloy also star.
