Lena Olin, Juliette Rylance and Bruce Dern are the stars of new Tom Dolby directed drama The Artist’s Wife.

It’s a story in which Claire (Olin) finds herself in the middle of a late-life crisis. A crisis that begins when her renowned abstract artist husband (Dern) is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease before he completes the paintings for his final show.

Almost right away I thought of The Wife (2018) because both movies are about wives who sacrifice plenty in order to prioritise their husband’s careers.

I’m curious about what Dolby’s film has to say about Alzheimer’s and the creative person. I also want to see this particular experience of the ever supportive wife.

Caryn West, Tonya Pinkins, Catherine Curtin, Stefanie Powers, Avan Jogia, Ravi Cabot-Conyers and Clare Louise Frost also star.

I’m intrigued by the premise but I’m most interested because I haven’t seen Hartnett in a movie since Oh, Lucy! (2017)

‘Where’s this going?’ That was my initial thought at the start of this trailer. but by the end I was won over, completely. Now I’m in the mood for adventure, humour and I’m looking forward to seeing LaBeouf in a role that doesn’t seem as dark as his other relatively recent ones.

John Hawkes, Deja Dee, Thomas Haden Church, Jon Bernthal, Yelawolf, Jake Roberts and Mick Foley also star.

Matthias Schoenaerts, Connie Britton and Bruce Dern are the stars of new Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre directed drama The Mustang.

The Mustang has Schoenaerts playing Roman Coleman, a violent convict who’s given the chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program that involves the training of wild mustangs…

I really like this cast. Especially Schoenaerts and Britton. It’s great to see Schoenaerts, one of my absolute favourite actors in a leading role in an American movie.  

Naturally and in part because of Robert Redford’s involvement, this trailer has  me thinking of The Horse Whisperer (1998). Remember that movie? The one that introduced many to a talented young Scarlett Johansson?

Josh Stewart, Jason Mitchell, Gideon Adlon, Jasmeet Baduwalia, Kelly Richardson and Devin Marigny also star.
