New comedy/drama Raymond & Ray stars Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke as half-brothers reunited at their father’s funeral.
Directed by Rodrigo García; key supporting cast includes Vondie Curtis-Hall, Maribel Verdú, Todd Louiso, Maxim Swinton, Tom Bower,
I had no clue how much I’d like the idea of Hawke and McGregor as brothers until I saw this trailer. The strong sibling dynamic and the humour are what I’m most looking forward to.
I say, bring on the healing for these connected brothers.
In the meantime, I’m going to reminisce about and maybe even re-watch the most fun scenes in the drama/comedy Death at a Funeral (2010); the movie that came to mind as this trailer played.
Chris Silcox, Chris Grabher, Laura Linda Bradley, Tom Bower, Leydi Morales and Natalie Cassell also star.
Long Way Up (2020), Ewan McGregor, Charlie Boorman, Apple TV+
Long Way Up is a new Apple TV+ Series that follows best friends Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman as they travel 13,000 miles through Central and South America, on their electric Harley-Davidsons
I’m in mainly for the tour of south America and to witness the kindness of the locals.
It’s intriguing that at time of writing, on IMDb, this series has been classified as Reality TV . I can understand why a little since it doesn’t seem to be a documentary. Neverthless, my fingers crossed that it isn’t edited in the style of reality TV shows. The way there’s only ever a morsel of new information in each episode. Information that will be teased a million times within the episode, before you actually see what happens.
The latest trailer for Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in DC Universe’s Birds of Preyjust arrived.
It’s a good looking trailer that certainly has me excited to experience the entirety of Robbie’s performance, both emotional and physical.
Chris Messina, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ewan McGregor, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Derek Wilson, Rosie Perez, Matthew Willig, Charlene Amoia, Isabel Pakzad and Ali Wong Also star.
The trailer for the long-awaited DC Comics Harley Quinn movie, Birds of Prey – And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn is finally here.
Directed by Cathy Yan, this new story starts after Quinn (Margot Robbie) splits up with the Joker and joins three female superheroes. Namely Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya. Their mission being to save the life of a little girl from an evil crime lord.
I’m in because, maybe, finally, all the excitement and yelping with delight that was a result of my seeing Robbie’s Harley Quinn in theSuicide Squad(2016) trailer, two years ago, can deliver on its promise. Fingers, toes and everything crossed!
Derek Wilson, Matthew Willig, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Chris Messina, Rosie Perez, Charlene Amoia, Isabel Pakzad and Ali Wong also star.
Doctor Sleep (2019), Ewan McGregor, Warner Bros. Pictures
Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and Jacob Tremblay are the stars of Doctor Sleep, a new horror movie based on Steven King’s novel of the same name.
Set decades after the events of The Shining (1980), a now-adult Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers as his. Dan must try to protect her from a cult who prey on children with powers.
I’ve never seen The Shining, and that’s mainly because it’s a horror movie and I’m scared. It’s not completely my fault, though, because at seventeen, my Media Studies teacher wouldn’t let the class watch The Shining, since, according to her, it was too scary. I myself had zero objections with her decision – especially since by that point, I’d already seen The Omen (1976), the film responsible for my general aversion to scary movies since the age of twelve.
As for whether I’ll watch Doctor Sleep? I may just. Especially if others find it to be less scary than The Shining.
The moments I like in this new trailer include when Dan says the words ‘The Shinning’ – the penny drops and I realise what this is.
There’s also my general happiness at seeing Rebecca Ferguson as a cast member. She’s been one of my favourites ever since Mission – Impossible 5, Rogue Nation (2015). As for Jack Nicholson, the standout star of The Shining, I’m not even sure he’s still acting, but I definitely half expected that he’d show up in this trailer. He still might. Well, that’s assuming he wasn’t killed off; something I’d know had I actually seen the original movie.
Have you seen The Shining? Is it truly as scary as they say?
Zahn McClarnon, Bruce Greenwood, Carl Lumbly, Selena Anduze, Carel Struycken, Emily Alyn Lind, Jocelin Donahue, Nicholas Pryor and Selena Anduze also star.
