A historical crime/drama set in the 1920s is the latest from Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Killers of the Flower Moon focuses on the relationship between the United States and its indigenous people, especially after members of the Osage tribe are mysteriously murdered, leading to an investigation involving F.B.I director J. Edgar Hoover.

I’ll start by addressing the humongous elephant in the room, following the above potentially confusing introductory paragraphs. Killers of the Flower Moon will not feature Dicaprio reprising his role as Hoover, as per the 2011 film, J. Edgar. He’s playing Ernest Burkhart and only Ernest Burkhart.

Now that we’ve cleared that up, and my giggles have dissipated, I’m intrigued by the smarts referred to at 0:22 in this trailer. I’m also very curious to see the evolution of Dicaprio and Gladstone’s characters.

Dark history is certainly what we’re in for with this one. As such, the question is, will you be ready to see this story told by such brilliant filmmakers? If so, how are you feeling about sitting through the 3.26-hour run time?

The new official trailer for The Irishman, the latest Martin Scorsese movie starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino is finally here.

The Irishman tells the story of a hitman’s recollection of his possible involvement with the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa, an American former Labour Union leader.

I’m quite certain that this is one of the most highly anticipated Netflix releases. With Scorsese’s track record and a cast of absolute legends of cinema, I look forward to seeing how well this turns out.

Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Harvey Keitel are the stars of new biography/crime/drama The Irishman.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, the story centres around a mob hitman’s recollection of his possible involvement with the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa.

The key actors in this movie are enough to get any serious movie fan very excited – and excited I certainly am. I also have to congratulate the creative mind behind the decision to have the shell float in the place of the letter I. I fully admit to yelping with delight at the beauty of the execution. Especially when De Niro’s name came up. Then I had to rewind to watch it all over again in case I imagined the whole thing. Then a third time, so I could actually listen to the dialogue.

No actual footage has even been released but I’m thoroughly convinced that autumn has never seemed so very far away.

Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese’s latest movie doesn’t look like it has a single gangster in sight.

Starring Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as Jesuit priests in the 17th century, the film follows the pair to Japan where they go on a dangerous journey to find their mentor (Liam Neeson) and spread the word about Christianity.

I’m looking forward to finding out what magic Scorsese can create in what looks like a very different film than what we’re used to expecting from the acclaimed director.
