The latest from Francis Ford Coppola is a crime/drama film titled Megalopolis.

Starring Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Chloe Fineman, Shia LaBeouf, and Giancarlo Esposito; we’re in for a fable about an architect (Driver) who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia, following a devastating disaster.

This one I’m interested in because it’s Coppola, director of the highly rated The Godfather (1972). Nevertheless, based on this trailer, there’s plenty going on. Fingers crossed that it comes together well and becomes another Coppola epic.

The title is a peculiar word, isn’t it? That precise thought had me saying Megalopolis three times fast, assuming it would be quite the tongue twister. Turns out Megalopolis is actually very easy to say, for me at least. As such, I’m likely just ignorant of the type of words and letter arrangements that make for the toughest of tongue twisters

How do you feel about this trailer and our hopeful protagonist’s lofty goals? Additionally, are you also able to easily say Megalopolis three times fast?

Shia LaBeouf, Lucas Hedges, Noah Jupe and Maika Monroe are the stars of new drama Honey Boy.

Set over the course of a decade, written by Shia LaBeouf and directed by Alma Har’el, Honey Boy is the story of a young actor’s efforts to mend his relationship with his hard-drinking, law-breaking father.

This must have been quite the journey for LaBeouf considering it appears to be based on the story of his relationship with his own father. I’m ready for good performances from everyone. Especially young Mr. Jupe.

FKA Twigs, Natasha Lyonne, Noah Jupe, Laura San Giacomo, Clifton Collins Jr. and Martin Starr also star.

Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), Shia LaBeouf, Zack Gottsagen, Roadside Flix

In new adventure story Peanut Butter Falcon, Zak (Zack Gottsagen) is a young man with Down syndrome who runs away from a nursing home to make his dream of becoming a wrestler come true.

Directed by Tyler Nilson, Michael Schwartz and also starring Dakota Johnson and Bruce Dern, Zak must convince small time outlaw Tyler (Shia LaBeouf) to help him.

‘Where’s this going?’ That was my initial thought at the start of this trailer. But by the end, I was completely won over. Now, I’m in the mood for adventure, humour, and I’m looking forward to seeing LaBeouf in a role that doesn’t seem as dark as his other relatively recent ones.

John Hawkes, Deja Dee, Thomas Haden Church, Jon Bernthal, Yelawolf, Jake Roberts and Mick Foley also star.
