Kerry Washington, Dean Norris, Susan Sarandon and Sam Waterston are the stars of The Six Triple Eight, a new Tyler Perry-directed/co-written historical drama. One about the contributions of 855 women who joined the war to fix a three-year backlog of undelivered mail.

I’m not usually the biggest watcher of Tyler Perry movies. But I hope this movie will be good. Especially since an actor of Washington’s calibre has attached their name to it.

I’m looking forward to witnessing effective teamwork, human beings lifting each other up, and much more of Washington speaking in that specific accent.

Naturally, this trailer brought to mind Hidden Figures (2016) which was super.

Sarah Jeffery, Austin Nichols, Oprah Winfrey, Gregg Sulkin, Milauna Jackson, Emily Tebbutt, Ebony Obsidian, Pepi Sonuga and Jeanté Godlock also star.

The six Triple Eight Release Dates: December 20th, 2024 (US & UK), Netflix…

A teenage murder witness finds himself pursued by twin assassins in the Montana wilderness with a survival expert tasked with protecting him — and a forest fire threatening to consume them all.

Directed by Taylor Sheridan; additional key cast includes Jon Bernthal, Nicholas Hoult, Jake Weber, Tyler Perry and Tory Kittles.

Such a pleasant surprise to see Jolie starring in a movie again. Jolie and the fact that I’m generally partial to productions about first responders is the reason I’m watching.

Lora Martinez-Cunningham, James Jordan, Laura Niemi, Finn Little, Alma Sisneros, Dylan Kenin, Matt Medrano and Medina Senghore also star.

Bresha Webb, Mehcad Brooks , Crystal Fox and Adrian Pasdar are the stars of new thriller A Fall From Grace.

Written/directed by and also starring Tyler Perry, this is the story of a woman whose new love’s true colours only come out once she’s married to him, leading to the implosion of her short-lived joy.

I’m giving this one a chance out of curiosity about the perfect circumstance that led to Fox’s character falling victim to Brook’s despicable con.

Fingers crossed that the courtroom dramatics will also be fun to watch because I really do love those when they’re well-executed.

Cicely Tyson, Phylicia Rashad, Sandra Ellis Lafferty, Nathan Anderson, Michael Rose, Walter Fauntleroy, James William Ballard, Matthew Law, James Healy Jr. and Frances Mitchell also star.

A Fall From Grace Release Dates: January 17th, 2020 (US) / Netflix…

GONE GIRL (2014): It’s Long But Definitely Worth It

Gone Girl (2014), Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike
Gone Girl (2014), Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike

1) I’d heard a lot of good things about Gone Girl.

2) I want to keep up with this Ben Affleck renaissance that’s been plenty discussed since Argo (2012).

3) Gone Girl is based on a successful book.

All the above are reasons I knew I’d watch David Fincher’s latest. Mr. Fincher himself is of course another reason.

Written by Gillian Flynn and very well acted by its stars, Rosamund Pike especially, and Ben Affleck. You’ll be left impressed and probably more than a little scared if not more careful.

Having seen this rather memorable film, I count myself amongst the wowed. I certainly don’t share the same disappointment some have expressed at the ending. For me, it felt just right somehow.

Gone Girl  is a brilliant mystery/drama/thriller of a movie. Regardless of the inherent darkness of the story, you’ll have no regrets. Just don’t make the same mistakes as the characters. In otherwords, be sure to communicate with your partner when things are bothering you.
