THE GARFIELD MOVIE (2024): New Trailer From Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Snoop Dogg, Ving Rhames…

Mark Dindal directs Chris Pratt, Snoop Dogg, Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham and Ving Rhames in a new movie about Garfield, arguably everyone’s favourite obese, orange tabby cat.

After years of being the pampered orange one, Garfield and his dog brother Odie go on a wild adventure with Garfield’s long-lost father, Vic (Jackson).

I was a little afraid that my favourite thing about this movie might be the cuteness of Garfield as a kitten. Not anymore. After this trailer, I’m ready for the fun adventure this is very likely to be.

Besides the cuteness, I’m excited to hear Waddingham as the deranged cat. The lady has a great voice after all.

Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein and Bowen Yang also star.

The Garfield Movie Release Dates: May 24th, 2024 (US & UK)…

Happy Film Loving,

G

  1. Sounds like some great voices will give voice to a pretty cool cat story. Looking forward to this one. One of my favorite comic strips and lead character.

  2. Not real thrilled with modern cartoons (unless they are anime) but may watch it if it gets to streaming. Quite a long list of famous names for the voices!

    1. When it comes to modern animation, I need a good engaging story, lots of colour and cuteness.

I agree with you about the names of the voice actors involved. I hope that Garfield creator Jim Davis is happy with the finished product. It does look quite fun.

  3. Yep looks like fun! I like they went with a bit different vibe to the previous live-action/CGI versions. Mainly Big G is considerably less grumpy now (I thought Murray was perfect and the character animation was top-notch even though the movies themselves were not that great), but could be because this is covering his youth. I need to see the whole thing to make the final judgment.

Also, it feels like Pratt is on his way to carving his name on the number of major cartoon characters (first LEGO guy, then Mario, and now Garfield).

    1. I actually forgot that Garfield is traditionally grumpy until you reminded me. Maybe Garfield The Movie 3 will give us a touch of the grumps. 🤓 They must have figured that this version would be more fun for now. I also admit to not remembering the previous movies, so you must be right about how they turned out.

      1. So true about Pratts’s animated movies. Perhaps he’s prioritising films that his children can watch and appreciate right away. 🤓 It helps that he’s a good voice actor. I’m curious about which is more taxing, a live-action movie or the voice work that often requires the same line to be said in various ways?
