BLACK BEAR (2020): New Trailer From Aubrey Plaza, Sarah Gadon, Christopher Abbott…

Black Bear (2020), Aubrey Plaza, Momentum Pictures

From writer/director Lawrence Michael Levine; Black Bear stars Aubrey Plaza as a filmmaker at a creative impasse. One who seeks solace from her tumultuous past at a rural retreat, only for her to find that the woods summon her inner demons.

Additional cast includes Sarah Gadon, Christopher Abbott and Alexander Koch.

Plaza’s character looks like quite the manipulator. In which case I sure hope that the seemingly innocent character played by Gadon gets out of there in one piece. I mean, my favourite line in this trailer did come out of her mouth: ‘No! It’s that I can’t stand the thoughts about the world that you have!’

Excited for a good, dramatic example of the experience of movie making.

Paola Lázaro, Lindsay Burdge, Jennifer Kim, Shannon O’Neill, Grantham Coleman and Lou Gonzalez also star.

Black Bear Release Dates: December 4th, 2020 (US)…

WILD MOUNTAIN THYME (2020): New Trailer From Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, John hamm, Christopher Walken…

Wild Mountain Thyme (2020), Jamie Dornan, Bleecker Street

Written/directed by John Patrick Shanley; Wild Mountain Thyme is the latest drama/romance starring Emily Blunt, John Hamm, Jamie Dornan and Christopher Walken.

Blunt and Dornan are star-crossed lovers in Ireland, a pair who find themselves caught up in their family’s land dispute.

It’s strange but earlier in the afternoon, a few hours before I came across this trailer, I was thinking about how long it’s been since I saw a new trailer starring Emily Blunt.

I’m in because it’s Blunt, even though I have to admit to not being a big fan of the way this trailer is edited; largely because it’s oddly jumpy, awkward, and I’m also not so sure about the Blunt/Dornan chemistry. Anyone else see what I see?

Lastly, I keep reading the title of this movie as Wild ‘Mushroom’ Thyme. I just hope I didn’t type that unintentionally somewhere.

Jon Tenney, Dearbhla Molloy, Danielle Ryan, Lydia McGuinness, Abigail Coburn, Darragh O’Kane and Martin F Ward also star.

Wild Mountan Thyme Release Dates: December 11th, 2020 (US)…

Imagine your life being turned upside down because you’re selected for observation by the world’s first superintelligence, a form of artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.

In new action/comedy Superintelligence, that is the reality of Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy), the most average person on Earth.

Directed by Ben Falcone; additional key cast includes James Corden, Bobby Cannavale and Jean Smart.

I’m hoping this is a good McCarthy movie because it’s good to see her back; along with Cannavale and Henry.

I’m now definitely trying to decide which famous person’s voice I’d like Superintelligence to adopt if I were in Carol’s shoes. Right now I’m thinking Kristen Bell, Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad or Vegan actor/influencer Tabitha Brown. Or perhaps, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bradley Cooper and other males with great deep voices.

Who would be your ideal Superintelligence voice?

Sarah Baker, Jock McKissic, Karan Soni, Jwaundace Candece, Michael Beach, Usman Ally, Damon Jones, Jay Lay, Jenna Perusich, and Carolyn Trahan also star.

Superintelligence Release Dates: November 26th, 2020 (US)…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of  The Princess Switch 2 – Switched Again (2020).

In 2018’s The Princess Switch, while competing in a Christmas baking competition in Belgravia, a Chicago baker bumps into a prince’s fiancée who happens to look just like her. Some things happen, and soon enough, the baker and the princess switched lives.

In the sequel The Princess Switch 2 – Switched Again, Vanessa Hudgens and Nick Sagar return and this time, something happens that requires the doubles to switch again, particularly before a new lookalike, party girl Fiona foils their plans.

Directed by Mike Rohl; additional key cast includes Suanne Braun and Lachlan Nieboer.

I’m watching for two reasons; to help get myself in the mood for Christmas, thanks to all those gorgeous decorations and attire. And to enjoy Hudgens’s rather pleasant accent.

It was likely quite the challenge to play three characters. But I imagine, probably also fun.

Mark Fleischmann, Grant Fergusson, Adele Lupton, Grant Crookes, Ricky Norwood and Jess Fergusson also star.

The Princess Switch 2 – Switched Again Release Dates: November 19th, 2020 (US)…
