Jeffrey Blitz is the director behind the new Anna Kendrick, Stephen Merchant, Craig Robinson and Lisa Kudrow comedy/ drama, Table 19.

Table 19 is that table at a wedding for the random people that the bride and groom aren’t particularly close to anymore, but feel obligated to invite…

I already like the vibe of this trailer, thanks to the edit and music. Also, brothers Jay and Mark Duplass are the writers which  means that at the very least it’s going to be watchable.

Thomas Cocquerel, Tony Revolori, June Squib, Amanda Crew and Wyatt Russell also make an appearance.

I’ve seen, loved and re-watched Good Will Hunting (1997) quite a few times, so as I watched this trailer, I couldn’t help but think, ‘and now… Affleck gets to play the ‘mathematical genius’. Sort of.

Anna Kendrick, John Lithgow, Jon Bernthal and J.K. Simmons also star.

Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates looks like the kind of non-serious summer viewing fun I’m going to be in the mood for come July and August. Zac Efron is lovely and all, but it’s really Anna Kendrick playing an outrageous character that I’m most looking forward to in this movie. For some reason I still think of her as the prim and proper young professional, Natalie Keener – George Clooney’s side-kick in Up In The Air (2009).

The last time I saw Ryan Reynolds in a film was The Proposal (2009). It wasn’t my favourite and kind of kept me away from future Reynolds movies. Having watched The Voices (2014), I can confirm that my attitude has changed.

The Voices is a crime/ comedy film directed by Marjane Satrapi and stars Reynolds as Jerry – a sinister / very unbalanced individual who somehow manages to remain likeable.

You’ll probably find yourself not quite rooting for him as such – on account of the murdering. However empathy will kick in since he’s definitely ‘not well’.

The way the Director/ Cinematographer presented the world of Jerry, how he sees things as opposed to actual reality is a particular highlight.

Watch it for a pleasantly different turn from Reynolds and good performances from Jacki Weaver,  Anna Kendrick and Gemma Aterton. I was also glad to see great character actor Sam Spruell’s name on the cast list.
