Lin-Manuel Miranda, Corey Hawkins, Dascha Polanco, Anthony Ramos and director  Jon M. Chu’s musical, In the Heights finally has a full trailer.

Set in Washington Heights, New York; the story focuses on a bodega owner’s mixed feelings about closing his store to retire to the Dominican Republic.

The reason I intend to give this a chance, even though I don’t love musicals is the thought that maybe this one won’t be so bad. Additionally, I tried but couldn’t sit through more than ten minutes of Hamilton 2020 because it moved too fast. My thought is that maybe this Miranda production will be different. Maybe.

Susan Pourfar, Melissa Barrera, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Olga Merediz, Ariana Greenblatt, Stephanie Beatriz, Marc Anthony, Leslie Grace, Ken Holmes and Julia Harnett also star.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, In The Heights is a musical about a bodega owner’s mixed feelings about closing his store to retire to the Dominican Republic.

Key cast includes Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dascha Polanco and Corey Hawkins.

With zero prior knowledge about the broadway show on which this movie is based, it looks as though, as much as the story is about indecision regarding retirement, it’s definitely also about gentrification.

I’m curious because it’s New York but it is also a musical – not my number one genre. I’ll at least try to watch.

Ariana Greenblatt, Stephanie Beatriz, Marc Anthony, Susan Pourfar, Melissa Barrera, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Olga Merediz, Leslie Grace, Ken Holmes and Julia Harnett also star.

A determined woman taking charge of her destiny and going after her dreams – especially when no one else believes; that for me is the subject matter of David O. Russell’s Joy; the movie that just got Jennifer Lawrence another Best Actress Golden Globe win.

In Lawrence’s third movie with Oscar-winning director, O’Russell, she’s joined by his other two favourite actors, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. There’s also Isabella Rossellini, Virginia Madsen, Elizabeth Rohm and Edgar Ramirez; all of whom deliver notable performances. I found Rossellinni and Madsen’s characters particularly entertaining

The journey you get to go on in the story of Joy will make you laugh, cry and cheer. As you do at least two of the above, you may also notice the beauty in the cinematography, filming style, dialogue and the perfect pace of this movie. All these elements combined make Joy a lot of fun to watch. Another plus is the many useful lessons for aspiring business people with big, lofty ideas and dreams.

Watch it because it’s good and because you know that making it in life and business can be hard. but the question is, do you really know just how hard? Joy, who comes in the shape of a seriously badass Jennifer Lawrence is happy to show you, as well as remind you that it’s never really over until you decide.

I loved the teaser trailer for David O. Russell’s latest film Joy, when I saw it a few months ago. I’m happy to report that the latest trailer is the perfect tease and even more exciting.

Who doesn’t love to watch the perceived underdog take charge and silence the doubters with legendary action? 

I’m looking forward to everything, including the comedy, dialogue and… absolutely everything!

Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez and Isabella Rossellini are the stars.

‘Find people you like working with and work with them whenever possible‘. These are words that probably came out of acclaimed Director David O. Russell’s mouth at some point, for here comes another movie starring his two favourite actors, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

Add Robert De Niro and you’ve got the cast of Silver Linings Playbook (2012), O’Russell’s Oscar-winning 2012 movie.

O’Russell’s latest biography/drama, Joy is the story of a family across four generations, and the woman who rises to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty.

Based on the trailer, it looks filled with trying times for the family but I’m looking forward to seeing Lawrence’s character make sweet, sweet lemonade out of it all.
