Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Dylan O’Brien, and Phoebe Dynevor are the stars of Anniversary, a Jan Komasa-directed thriller that follows a very close-knit family torn apart following ‘the change.’

I’m intrigued by the Dynevor, O’Brien and Lane dynamic. And, if ‘the change’ is what I think it is, it’s a smart move by the trailer editors, not explicitly stating anything.

In any case, I suspect I’ll enjoy Dynevor playing an American.

What are your thoughts about Anniversary so far?

Co-written and directed by Thomas Bezucha; additional key cast includes Lesley Manville, Kayli Carter, Booboo Stewart…

This one’s going to be intense but I have to see it because of the brilliant cast.

Jeffrey Donovan, Will Brittain, Ryan Bruce, Adam Stafford, Bradley Stryker, Tayden Marks, Caillou Pettis, Connor Mackay and Greg Lawson also star.

In new drama/thriller Serenity, Matthew McConaughey is a fishing boat captain living in the Caribbean whose life is interrupted when his past comes back to haunt him.

From writer/director Steven Knight; Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane, and Djimon Hounsou are among the key cast.

The genre, talent and setting all appeal to me. I also like that this movie appears to be a change of pace for at least one of the cast.

All I want now is for the ‘lies beneath the surface’ to be worth the run time. Writer/director Steven Knight did write my favourite Tom Hardy movie (Locke 2013), so there is hope.

Additional cast includes Jeremy Strong, Jason Clarke and Kenneth Fok.

Inside Out is an intelligent animated film about a young girl (Riley) and her emotions. Particularly how Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust try to agree on the best way to get through Riley’s days after her surroundings change unexpectedly.

Directed by Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen; Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black provide the key character voices.

Being an animated movie, cuteness was always likely; but my, oh my is Sadness the cutest! Watch it for a little education on how memories work, why each one memory/emotion is important and for Amy Poehlers wonderfully hopeful voice.

Directed by Jay Roach; Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren, Louis C.K., Diane Lane and John Goodman are all great reasons to watch. Other reasons include all the beautiful words/dialogue, including the following.
