THE WHITE LOTUS – SEASON 3 (2025): The Things I Liked…

I’m up to date with all three seasons of The White Lotus, the HBO series about the lives and shenanigans of the guests and staff of a high-end hotel.

Seasons one and two were great, and my favourite of the three. In this new third instalment, the performances are fantastic, as expected. However, I lost patience at certain points due to a slower pace – and because I didn’t find some of the character stories as engaging as I’d have liked.

Further still, in the first and second seasons, I found the social commentary about the dynamics between the rich and the far-from-rich more poignant and interesting. That’s not to say this season isn’t worth your time if you’re curious. The acting is truly great, after all.

At the time of this post, the season three finale is still a few days out. Nevertheless, I doubt the result will change how I feel about this instalment compared to the first two. I’m happy to be wrong, of course. In fact, I’d prefer it.

Bring on Sunday’s finale, and Season Four!

Have you seen The White Lotus? What first comes to mind when you think of each season? My spoiler-free thoughts for each are as follows:

Season One: The delightful pace and chaos of Episode Four

Season Two: Jennifer Coolidge’s super memorable character and why, deservedly, plenty more people know the name Leo Woodall.

Season Three: Jason Isaacs’s, Sam Nivola and Patrick Schwarzenegger’s performances. Can I say, chef’s kiss? I just did.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of The White Lotus – Season 3 (2025).

HBO’s Emmy award-winning series about the shenanigans of the guests/employees of a luxury resort is back for a promising third season.

Seasons one and two were set in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. This time, we’re off to beautiful Thailand, and regular cast member Natasha Rothwell is joined by Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb and Michelle Monaghan, to name just a few.

I enjoyed the characters, stories and performances in seasons one and two of The White Lotus. May this new instalment be another euphony that gets everyone looking forward to season four.

So far, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs and Walton Goggins’s characters have me most intrigued. And you?

HOTEL MUMBAI (2019): New Trailer From Armie Hammer, Dev Patel, Nazanin Boniadi, Jason Isaacs…

Hotel Mumbai (2019), Dev Patel

Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi and Jason Isaacs are the stars of new historical drama/thriller Hotel Mumbai.

Directed by Anthony Maras, the premise is the true story of the 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai, India, at the Taj Hotel.

The stories of people working together to survive under extraordinary circumstances, that’s why I want to see this. It helps that this trailer looks good and the cast is reliable.

The beautiful images of India are an added bonus. Also, Hotel Mumbai reminds me of Titanic (1997) – except that this time the terror isn’t because of an ‘iceberg, right ahead.’

Additional cast includes Anupam Kher, Angus McLaren, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Lauren Koopowitz.

Hotel Mumbai Release Dates: March 22nd, 2019 (US)…

THE DEATH OF STALIN (2017): New Trailer From Rupert Friend, Steve Buscemi, Olga Kurylenko, Jeffrey Tambor, Jason Isaacs…

Directed and co-written by Armando Iannucci, The Death Of Stalin is a drama/biography that’s loosely based on Stalin, the Soviet dictator’s last days.

Starring Rupert Friend, Steve Buscemi, Olga Kurylenko, Jeffrey Tambor and Jason Isaacs, the film depicts the chaos of the regime after Stalin’s death.

Undoubtedly, I’m in for the humour and the dialogue. How could I not be with beautifully delivered lines such as the following…?

‘Our General Secretary is lying, in a puddle of indignity.’

‘I may as well just shoot myself, like mother.’

I’m guessing that Jeffrey Tambor isn’t actually playing a Russian that grew up in Russia;. Otherwise how would one explain his American accent?

Andrea Riseborough, Paddy Considine, Michael Palin and Roger Ashton-Griffiths also star.

The Death Of Stalin Release Dates: October 20th, 2017 (UK)…

A CURE FOR WELLNESS (2017): New Trailer Starring Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs & Directed by Gore Verbinski…

Directed by Gore Verbinski; Dane DeHaan, Jason Isaacs and Mia Goth are the stars of new mystery/thriller A Cure For Wellness; a scary looking film that has a young executive sent to a ‘wellness centre’ in a remote location in the Swiss Alps. A place where the things that happen are not quite as advertised.

I want to see this. However, that clip of Goth in the bath looks plucked straight out of my worst nightmares.

A Cure For Wellness Release Dates: February 17th, 2017 (US); March 24th, 2017 (UK)…
