BRAD’S STATUS (2017): Good…

Brad’s Status (2017), Austin Abrams, Ben Stiller
Brad’s Status (2017), Austin Abrams, Ben Stiller

Directed by Mike White and featuring notable performances from all the cast, especially Ben Stiller (Brad) and Austin Abrams, Brad’s Status is a good and moving comedy. One about a 47 year-old man caught up with feeling inferior about his life choices. Particularly when he compares himself to his seemingly far more successful friends.

I’m quite sure that watching this movie is going to put you through a mixture of emotions. You’ll laugh, smile, be moved – and it’s likely that you’ll probably find yourself thinking, if not saying out loud: ‘Come on, Brad! you’re not seeing what’s right in front of you! If you’d only look and see!’

As frustrating as Brad’s attitude and behaviour may get at times, because many of us can relate to getting caught up with the perils of comparison, you’re going to want the best for Brad. And this is a small part of the reason you’ll continue to watch until the end. You’ll stick with it even though that jarring music at the beginning may have come close to forcing you to hit the stop button.

Watch Brad’s Status because the story and performances are worthy.

BRAD’S STATUS (2017): New Trailer From Ben Stiller, Michael Sheen, Austin Abrams, Jermaine Clement, Jenna Fischer…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Brad’s Status (2017).

Starring Ben Stiller, Michael Sheen, Jermaine Clement, Austin Abrams and directed by Mike White, Brad’s Status is a new comedy about a father who feels inferior about his life choices. It’s after meeting up with an old friend that he starts to question everything.

I enjoyed Stiller’s work in films such as While We’re Young (2015), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) and Greenberg (2010)

I like the fact that Brad’s Status is similarly about a man having to evaluate his life and how he has lived.

Stiller is always believable in everything he does and I’m sure I’ll  enjoy learning from Brad about how to and most likely, how not to handle what looks like a sudden mid-life crisis.

Luke Wilson, Shazi Raja and Luisa Lee also star.

APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN (2016): New Trailer Starring Mark Strong, Sanaa Lathan, Luke Wilson…

Approaching The Unknown (2016), Mark Strong

Starring Luke Wilson, Sanaa Lathan and Mark Strong, Approaching The Unknown is a new movie about a mission to Mars that doesn’t quite go according to plan.

Written/directed by Mark Elijah Rosenberg, one thing that seems very clear is that this movie is highly unlikely to be incorrectly  categorised as a comedy, come award season, 2017. It was ridiculous enough when The Martian (2015) was nominated in the comedy category.

Now, I’m just hoping that the finished product is good, because right now, I feel like it could go either way,

Approaching The Unknown Release Dates: June 3rd, 2016 (US in theatres and iTunes)…

MEADOWLAND (2015): New Trailer About the Effects Of Loss, Starring Olivia Wilde Luke Wilson & Elizabeth Moss

Meadowlands (2015), Olivia Wilde
Meadowlands (2015), Olivia Wilde

Luke Wilson and Olivia Wilde are the stars of new movie Meadowland, from Kill Your Darlings (2013) director, Reed Morano.

The story follows the struggles of two individuals and how they’re affected by an unimaginable loss.

I’ll be watching for the interesting subject matter and also because of Giovanni Ribisi, Elizabeth Moss, John Leguizamo and Olivia Wilde.

I like the great trailer music and editing, I’m  just not a fan of the textual interruptions.

Juno Temple and Kevin Corrigan also star.

Release Date (s): October 16th, 2015 (US)….

CONCUSSION (2015): Intense New Trailer With Will Smith As Dr. Bennet Omalu

Concussion (2015), Will Smith
Concussion (2015), Will Smith

I knew this public holiday had to gift me with a great new trailer. And it has, for Will Smith has a brand new movie.

I can’t wait to see this, first because it looks good, and second, Smith sounds absolutely nothing like himself, therefore making for an even more satisfying transformation for the spectator.

Concussion is written and directed by Peter Landesman, the man responsible for 2014’s Kill The messenger starring Jeremy Renner.

Alec Baldwin and British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw also star, along with Stephen Moyer, Luke Wilson and Albert Brooks.

Due for release stateside on December 25th (2015) and January 29th (2016) for the U.K.
