Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio are the stars of new drama/comedy/sci-fi movie Don’t Look Up.

Directed by Adam McKay; at the centre of the story are two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet; the kind that will completely destroy planet Earth.

Great title for a movie about an ‘end of the world event’ coming from above, right?

I’m very ready for the comedy and dramatics that this wonderful cast is going to deliver. Also happy to see Lawrence back. These days I just love seeing DiCaprio in non-biographical movies. I think I got my fill with Catch Me if You Can (2002), The Aviator (2004), J. Edgar (2011); which all seemed to happen in quick succession.

Gina Gershon, Matthew Perry, Mark Rylance, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Jona Hill also star.

I will be brave enough and see this because a part of me wants to start liking scary movies – and I love all the film makers involved; Lawrence and Aronovsky because of everything they do, Bardem because of Skyfall (2012), Harris because of The Truman Show (1998) / A History Of Violence (2005), etc., etc…

I also wouldn’t mind hearing more of the beautiful / haunting music in this trailer.

Other cast includes Jovan Adepo, Kristen Wiig, Amanda Warren…

Passengers is the new sci-fi / adventure movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt and Michael Sheen. Everything takes place aboard a spacecraft that’s en route to a distant colony planet whilst carrying thousands of people. Things get particularly interesting when a malfunction in the spacecraft’s sleep chambers results in two passengers being prematurely awakened – 90 years earlier than planned…

Indeed the acting star power of this movie is off the charts. But the thing that excites me most is the fact that Passengers is directed by Morten Tyldum, the man behind The Imitation Game – one of  2014’s very best movies. I can’t wait to see how well this story is constructed. My eyes definitely glistened at ‘You die, I die!’

Laurence Fishburne, Marie Burke and Aurora Perrineau also star.
