Alex Parkinson is the director of Last Breath, Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu and Cliff Curtis’s new underwater drama.

Based on a true story, Parkinson’s film follows deep-sea divers as they give their all to save a crew mate trapped hundreds of feet below the surface of the ocean.

I like the look of this one, and I’m especially relieved that it’s not a horror film about underwater creatures in the ocean’s darkest depths.

As someone who’s unfamiliar with the true events that inspired this movie, I’m looking forward to what I imagine should be a happy ending. However, I’m a little worried that we’re in for an Armageddon (1998) type ending, something I really hope doesn’t happen. Nevertheless, perhaps I’ll get over it.

How do you feel about being at sea and underwater for at least an hour and thirty minutes?

Finn Cole, Christian Scicluna, Riz Khan, Nick Biadon, Daithí O’Donnell and Connor Reed also star.

Last Breath Release Dates: February 28th, 2025, US…

TRIANGLE OF SADNESS (2022): New Trailer Starring Woody Harrelson, Thobias Thorwid, Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean…

Harris Dickinson, Woody Harrelson, Charlbi Dean and Thobias Thorwid are the stars of new comedy/drama Triangle of Sadness.

Directed by Ruben Östlund; the setting is a yacht cruise for the super-rich. The yacht ends up sinking and leaving survivors including a fashion model celebrity couple.

I happened to watch this trailer and the one for The Menu (2022) back to back. And since they seem to have a couple of things in common, I have a question. If you could only watch one of the two films, which one would you choose and why?

My choice is Triangle of Sadness, and certainly not just because I like the way Harrelson’s character keeps casually winking. It’s the comedy and the ‘Titanic, but different’ vibe that this movie is giving off.

Arvin Kananian, Alicia Eriksson, Zlatko Buric, Dolly De Leon, Vicki Berlin, Sunnyi Melles, Iris Berben and Oliver Ford Davies also star.

Triangle of Sadness Release Dates: October 28th, 2022 (US & UK)…

VENOM – LET THERE BE CARNAGE (2021): New Trailer From Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris…

Venom - Let There Be Carnage (2021), Tom Hardy, Sony Pictures Entertainment

The time for the Venom sequel trailer has finally arrived.

Directed by Andy Serkis; the second instalment, Venom – Let There Be Carnage follows the complex, badass lethal protector Eddie Brock/Venom (Tom Hardy),while doing what he does best.

Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris and Reid Scott are among the key cast.

I’m most excited about what Harrelson will bring to his role. And I hope that I’ll like this sequel better than I did the first movie. The effects seem to have improved, which is great.

I feel as though I know what to expect with Hardy as Venom. so what I’m really looking forward to is Harrelson and Harris’s characters. As for the former, something tells me that Cletus Kasady is just kind of crazy character that Harrelson is has always been perfect for. Fingers crossed the special effects are as good as we need them to be.

Stephen Graham, Amber Sienna, Sean Delaney, Michelle Greenidge, Peggy Lu, Laurence Spellman, Otis Winston, Alfredo Tavares, Mel Powell and Etienne Vick also star.

ZOMBIELAND – DOUBLE TAP (2019): New Trailer From Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Bill Murray, Jesse Eisenberg…

Zombieland - Double Tap (2019): Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Sony Pictures Entertainment
Zombieland – Double Tap (2019): Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Sony Pictures Entertainment

Starring Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Bill Murray, and Jesse Eisenberg, Zombieland – Double Tap continues the story of a group of four as they move to the American heartland. A place where they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Zombieland – Double Tap is a follow-up to 2009’s Zombieland movie, also directed by Fleischer.

I actually had no idea that a previous Zombieland movie existed until today, and I generally don’t tend to gravitate towards zombie movies. However, this talented cast and the promise of humour do have my attention.

Luke Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Abigail Breslin, Dan Aykroyd, Avan Jogia, Thomas Middleditch and Rachel Luttrell also star.

Zombieland – Double Tap Release Dates: October 11th, 2019 (US); October 18th, 2019 (UK)…

THE HIGHWAYMEN (2018): The Thing I Liked…

The Highwaymen (2019), Woody Harrelson, Kevin Costner
The Highwaymen (2019), Woody Harrelson, Kevin Costner

The Highwaymen, the story of the two police officers who came out of retirement to catch infamous bank-robbing outlaws Bonnie & Clyde is a movie I don’t regret making time for.

The reason I watched the film at all was my curiosity about the retelling of the famous Bonnie and Clyde story, but from the perspective of the officers who ended their bank robbing and killing spree. That, along with my general appreciation of both Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson’s talents. In fact the dynamic between Costner and Harrelson is my favourite thing about director John Lee Hancock’s movie. I also enjoyed the exchanges between the highwaymen and other law enforcement officers.

In terms of the thing or two that I enjoyed less about The Highwaymen, I wish it had moved a little faster and or contained  a tad more excitement. At the same time though, considering the fact that the two highwaymen had just come out of retirement, I may have been asking for a little too much.

Watch it if you’re really curious. Just don’t be surprised if you  find yourself getting distracted quite easily.
