Rebel In The Rye tells the story of celebrated author, J.D. Salinger, the man responsible for one of the most widely loved books ever written, The Catcher In The Rye.

Directed by Danny Strong; Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Spacey, Sarah Paulson and Zoey Deutch are among the key cast.

The Catcher In The Rye happens to be one of my favourite books. I’ve read somewhere that it’s also incredibly difficult if not near impossible to turn into a movie. As such, I guess fans have to settle for a movie about the the films writer and the events that lead to his most famous book.

I’d happily watch this movie right now if I could. Especially since I recall what happens in The Catcher In The Rye, only vaguely at this point.

Victor Garber and Lucy Boynton also star.

My big hope for this Fernando Coimbra-directed war drama is that the American accents are as convincing as the truth in the actor’s eyes and words, because the story is intriguing.

Kill Your Friends (2015), Nicholas Hoult

So far, it’s clear that Kill Your Friends, the latest film from Nicholas Hoult, Ed Skrein and James Corden is at least as dark as the movie’s title suggests. I like the way the trailer is quite entertaining on it’s own, without making me strongly want to watch the actual movie.

In the event that I do decide to tune in to Kill Your Friends, it’ll be to see what Hoult does with the character more than anything else. For now, something is telling me to watch American Psycho (2000) again. There’s also a desire in me to dance around like a crazy person after hearing the party music in this trailer.

Rosanna Arquette, Tom Riley and Georgia King also star.

Friday has arrived with a trailer I wasn’t aware was the thing missing from y week/life.

Starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, director Bryan Singer’s  X-Men: Apocalypse is the latest instalment of the X-Men franchise, and it looks good.

I like both trailers. For trailer one, specific footage and dialogue are especially great. What I’m less keen on is the continued use of the music first heard at 1:10, because, for me, once is quite enough.

My wish is that it all unfolds beautifully upon release.
