WRATH OF MAN (2021): New Trailer From Guy Ritchie; Starring Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood, Josh Hartnet,t Jeffrey Donovan…

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Wrath of Man stars Jason Statham, Josh Hartnett, Scott Eastwood and Jeffrey Donovan in an action/thriller about H.

From writers Ivan Atkinson and Nicolas Boukhrief, H is a cold and mysterious character working at a cash truck company. A company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles every week.

Even though Ritchie isn’t the writer, I can’t wait to see his directorial style all over this. I already love the clip accompanied by exactly the right type of music when the shooting starts.

Statham and Ritchie back working together is great to see. If my memory serves me well, they last collaborated in my two favourite Ritchie movie: Locks Stock and Two Smocking Barrels (1998) plus Snatch (2000). Then there’s Hartnett, an actor I last saw Oh, Lucy (2017), a fun quirky movie.

Wrath of Man Release Dates: May 7th, 2021 (US); June 25th, 2021 (UK)…

PACIFIC RIM UPRISING (2018): New Trailer From John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Adria Arjona…

The fight to save the world from an apocalypse continues in Pacific Rim Uprising, where Jake, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots to confront the looming threat…

Directed by Steven S. DeKnight; the names Pentecost, Mako Mori and Jaeger pilots – none of these names mean anything to me since I haven’t actually watched (Pacific Rim (2013). I am however, contemplating rectifying that just so I can get to the new movie and listen to Boyega deliver the speech partly featured in this trailer in its entirety. I had no idea there was that much beautiful bass in Boyega’s voice.

Pacific Rim Uprising Release Dates: March 23rd, 2018 (US); May 18th, 2018 (UK)…

Tian Jing, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman and Charlie Day also star.

Walk Of Fame stars Scott Eastwood,  Cory Hardrict and Malcolm McDowell in a new comedy about struggling actors under the guidance of an eccentric acting coach…

I’ve been ready to see Scott Eastwood in a movie I can really get behind and shout about in the best way. Who knows, Walk Of Fame could be that movie, maybe.

Laura Ashley Samuels, Jack Guzman and Eddie George also atar.

Walk Of Fame Release Dates: March 24th, 2017 (US)…

Ben Affleck is director, producer and star of Live By Night, a new crime drama about the dealings of a group of people involved in organised crime during the United States prohibition era. Based on the novel by Dennis Lehane; Zoe Saldana, Scott Eastwood, Elle Fanning and Chris Messina are just some of the talented cast…

Johnny Depp’s Public Enemies (2009) came to mind as I watched this trailer. Which will be the better movie, I wonder…

Live By Night Release Dates: January 13th 2017 (US & UK)…

SNOWDEN (2016): New Trailer From Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Shailene Woodley

When I first saw the teaser trailer for writer / director Oliver Stone’s new film about Edward Snowden, I was disappointed that it didn’t reveal a little more than the films title – Snowden and a few facts about the protagonist…

Teaser trailer

However, I watched the teaser again some weeks later and was reminded that just because I wanted more footage there and then, doesn’t necessarily mean that I should have had it. Instead of being mad at the tease, my imagination did overtime as I began to picture all sorts of dramatic scenes. Scenes with dialogue as engaging as the brilliant as screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s words in The Social Network  Would’t that be fantastic?

Even if Snowden turns out to be nothing like The Social Network, all that really matters is that it’s good. Just as well then that the below trailer looks mighty promising.

THE LONGEST RIDE (2014): The Good & Bad Things

The Longest Ride (2015), Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood
The Longest Ride (2015), Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood

The Longest Ride is a drama / romance directed by George Tillman Jr and based on a book by Nicholas Sparks.

Starring Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson, the film follows two couples, one young and the other much older whose paths cross one night in North Carolina.

As I watched The Longest Ride, I found myself thinking, ‘enough of this older couple’s story, more of the other, please!’ but their story does get a little more interesting.

The film is quite long and there  are some moments where the dialogue didn’t sound great but I do like what happened at the auction at the end.

Overall, I definitely prefer Dear John (2010) or The Notebook (2004) to this film adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks book.

As for any reasons to watch, you’ll learn a few things about bull riding and you may even find yourself taking note of some of the country music in the musical score. The main reason I tuned in is a curiosity about Scott Eastwood (son of Clint). The good news is, he’s definitely not terrible.

Happy The Longest Ride 🙂

Blitz Trailer

David Ayer, the man who brought us Training Day (2001) and Fury (2014) is in the director’s seat. I want to say that there’s no way this isn’t a sure thing… and I just did, so…

Based on all three trailers, it looks like Margot Robbie’s part is a big one, something I have no complaints about since her role looks perfectly badass.

As for  Jared Leto’s Joker, Heath Ledger did such an unforgettable thing with the part in The Dark Knight (2008) that it’s going to take something very special for many film fans not to think of Ledger whenever the Joker is mentioned. With that said, I’m loving what I see in the blitz trailer.

Well done trailer maker, for the excellent editing and choice of music.

The wait for release feels long. Lets all hope that it’s so very worth it indeed.

Release Date (s): August 5th, 2016 (US & UK)…
