One fateful day in 1984, an unemployed ice cream truck driver named Michael Larson (Paul Walter Hauser) became a contestant on TV game show Press Your Luck.

What the executives at the show didn’t know is that Larson was harbouring a secret, and his real motivations.

Directed by Samir Oliveros and based on a true story, additional key cast includes Shamier Anderson, Walton Goggins and Haley Bennett.

I simply need to know how Larson did it and why. I’m also mesmerised by Hauser’s performance and how adorable his character outwardly appears. Future perfect Santa alert, if you ask me.

Patti Harrison, Brian Geraghty, Lilli Kay, Johnny Knoxville, Tatiana Ronderos, Ricky Russert, David Rysdahl, David Strathairn, Maisie Williams, Shaunette Renée Wilson and James Wolk also star.

In the world of new sci-fi/thriller Awake, a devastating global event has wiped out all electronics and eliminated people’s ability to sleep. Gina Rodriguez stars as former soldier Jill, whose daughter may just be the solution.

Directed by Mark Raso; additional key cast includes Barry Pepper, Shamier Anderson, Ariana Greenblatt and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

The chaos of it all is what I’m drawn to; the idea of a world functioning on zero sleep. I mean, many well-rested individuals make terrible decisions, which begs the question, precisely how scary can we expect things to get?

I’m in for the answer to the above while hoping that this movie will exceed all my expectations.

Frances Fisher, Gil Bellows, Finn Jones, Sebastian Pigott, Sergio Di Zio, Alex House, Michael Hough, Lucius Hoyos, Trevor Hayes and Shawn Ahmed also star.

Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, Toni Collette and Shamier Anderson’s latest sci-fi/thriller is all about a mission to Mars that runs into a series of unintended challenges, after a stowaway is discovered on board.

Surely there’s no way that this ends well for all involved. I feel as though my heart just broke multiple times while watching this trailer. Still, I’m in for that special Kendrick, Collette and Kim magic.

I also want to see how it all unfolds because I could be wrong, but it seems as though some secrets are bound to come out.

Lastly, will this movie be as good as or better than Netflix’s other recent space movie, The Midnight Sky (2020)? I wonder.
