In Wind River, Elizabeth Olsen is an FBI agent who teams up with the town’s veteran game tracker (Jeremy Renner) to investigate a murder that occurred on a Native American reservation.
Written/directed by Taylor Sheridan; Jon Bernthal and Kelsey Asbille also star.
This one appeals because I want to know if Renner’s character is the killer, plus I want to see more of the beautiful creatures at 1:55 in the above trailer; big cats are my favourite, after all.
Wyatt Russell, Rainn Wilson, Adam Pally and Benjamin Walker are the stars of Shimmer Lake, an Oren Uziel-directed crime/drama/mystery told backwards – reversing day by day through a week.
The story follows a local sheriff’s quest to unlock the mystery of three small-town criminals and a botched bank heist.
I’m so ready for that good kooky humour. The scream at 1:02 is perhaps as satisfying and well timed as the one at 1:02 in the Absolutely Fabulous (2016)trailer. I love me some good comic timing.
Also, it looks like Adam Pally may be playing a serious role; interesting.
In Wonder, the latest movie from Julia Roberts, Jacob Tremblay and Owen wilson, August (Auggie) Pullman is a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade at a mainstream elementary school for the first time.
Jacob Tremblay is such a great young talent. He, along with Roberts and Wilson, are great reasons to watch this movie. It also helps that the film is based on R.J. Palacio’s bestselling book of the same name. I don’t recall the last time I watched Wilson in a non-comedy role, so this should be interesting.

When I first realised thatThe Boss Baby was about a smart/adult-like briefcase carrying baby, I feared that as I watched the movie, I’d miss the only other smart/adult-like baby I’d ever known and loved. I’m of course talking about the lovable Stewie Griffin of Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy.
Luckily, as I watched the Tom McGrath-directed animated movie, not for a single second did the delightful Stewie G. come to mind. There was simply too much engaging fun, imagination and general cuteness going on in The Boss Baby.
The person behind the story of The Boss Baby (Marla Frazee) is an individual with a great imagination, not unlike the film’s main character, Timmy (Miles Bakshi), and many other children you may or may not know. Kids are certainly going to have a good time with The Boss Baby. But thank goodness, you don’t have to be a kid to like it.
Some things happened in The Boss Baby that really reminded me I was watching an animation, meaning the rules of what may or may not happen in an everyday situation simply have to be discarded completely. Usually, I’m fine with suspending my disbelief, but with this movie, for some reason, I was sometimes less able to do so at certain points.
My personal favourite animated films are still Finding Nemo (2003) and Ratatouille (2007). This movie, though not as well-executed in every way as the aforementioned, it’s still a fun adventure.
Another personal highlight for me was knowing that the dad character was being voiced by my favourite American talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel; a seemingly nice man whose voice I happen to find rather comforting.
An aspiring rapper from a down trodden town in New Jersey is working on making it big. Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P, a.k.a. Patti Cake$ is her name and she’s played by Danielle McDonald in this Geremy Jasper directed drama.
Bridget Everett and Siddharth Dhananjay also star.
For obvious reasons, Eminem’s 8 Mile (2002) came to mind as I watched this trailer.
I’m curious about the film because I’m quite the sucker for a promising underdog story. You know, stories where people are winning regardless of all the doubters.
