HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 – SUMMER VACATION (2018): New Trailer From Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi…

Hotel Transylvania 3 (2018).
Hotel Transylvania 3 (2018).

Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez and Steve Buscemi are back in the third instalment of the Genndy Tartakovsky-directed Hotel Transylvania 3.

This time, the action takes place away from the vacation hotel and instead, everything happens on a luxury monster cruise ship.

The monster family are all having a great time catching up on their moon tans, but then Drac goes and falls for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka and everything changes.

I’ll be tuning in for the ‘easy viewing light entertainment’. I’ll probably also be wondering whose accent I love more, Adam Sandler as Drac in his Hotel Transylvania movies, or Steve Carell as Gru in the Despicable Me films. Both are pretty great, to be honest.

Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Keegan-Michael Key, David Spade and David Spade also star.

Hotel Transylvania 3 – Summer Vacation Release Dates: July 13th, 2018 (US); July 27th, 2018 (UK)

FANTASTIC BEASTS 2 – THE CRIMES OF GRINDENWALD (2018): New ‘First Look Trailer’ From Eddie Redmayne, Collin Farell,  Katherine Waterston…

Fantastic Beasts 2 - The Crimes of Grindenwald (2018), Eddie Redmayne

Fantastic Beasts 2 – The Crimes of Grindenwald is the second instalment of the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them‘ series.

Directed by David Yates; starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Ezra Miller, the story is all about the ongoing adventures of Newt Scamander.

I’m still yet to watch the first movie because fantasy isn’t my favourite genre. Nevertheless, it looks as though a lot of footage from the first movie has been used for this trailer. It could just be the general look of the films and the fact that Redmayne’s character appears to sport the same outfit at all times. You know, like Bart Simpson.

It could also be that the marketing people wanted to release something exactly a year before the first movie but they had absolutely nothing to show and so they opted to use old footage. That’s probably it.

I’m sure I’ll eventually make time for these movies. Especially since I put off watching Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and actually rather enjoyed it when I saw it, finally.

Fantastic Beasts 2 – The Crimes Of Grindenwald Release Dates: November 16th, 2018 (US & UK)…

Directed by Nora Twomey, The Breadwinner is about a headstrong young girl in Afghanistan who disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family. Saara ChaudryLaara Sadiq and Shaista Latif star.

Something about the look and feel of this animation reminds me of the kinds of stories and children’s books I used to read as an eight-year-old. Therefore, I simply must watch.

BEAUTY & THE BEAST (2017): The Thing I Liked…

Beauty & The Beast (2017), Emma Watson
Beauty & The Beast (2017), Emma Watson

The last time Disney had a live-action movie made of one of their fairy tales, I was beyond thrilled. Thrilled with the trailer, thrilled with the cast list and absolutely delighted with the end result. The movie I’m talking about is, of course, Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella (2015), which was always going to be a hard act to follow.

Bill Condon’s Beauty & The Beast is a film I was also looking forward to. However, it doesn’t quite have the likes of acting queen Cate Blanchett on the cast list. As such, you can imagine that my enthusiasm just wasn’t the same.

Additionally, the acting and singing weren’t bad, but as a non-fan of musicals, all the singing probably didn’t help me appreciate the film more.

I did enjoy the romance towards the end, and I think the film was alright, overall. Nevertheless, my preference remains Cinderella. Big fans of Beauty & The Beast and musicals will probably enjoy this remake of the fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love. Perhaps they’ll like it as much as I do, Cinderella. I hope they do.

Aladdin 2019 is coming next, which I’ll eventually watch, maybe, even though it is a musical.

EARTH – ONE AMAZING DAY (2017): New BBC Earth Documentary Narrated By Jackie Chan and Robert Redford…

Earth - One Amazing Day (2017)
Earth – One Amazing Day (2017)

Directed by Richard Dale, Lixin Fan and Peter Weber, Earth – One Amazing Day is a new documentary that follows several of the World’s most beautiful animals over the course of one single day.

Tracked from the highest mountains to the remotest islands and exotic jungles, and with the help of great filmmaking technology, seriously jaw-dropping footage awaits. Actors Jackie Chan and Robert Redford are the narraters.

I’m in for the high-quality images of Earth’s animals, both beautiful and scary. I mean… I just saw what happened with the snakes from precisely one minute into this trailer. Relaxing viewing is not what I’m expecting, and I’m ready.

Earth – One Amazing Day Release Dates: October 6th, 2017 (US); October 20th, 2017 (UK)…
