THE RUNNING MAN (2025): New Trailer Starring Glen Powell, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo…

Glen Powell, Colman Domingo, Jayme Lawson and Lee Pace are the stars of The Running Man, a new sci-fi/action/thriller directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver (2017).

Based on a novel by Stephen King, Powell plays a desperate man who joins a game show. One where contestants can go anywhere in the world, while pursued by people hired to kill them.

At first, I feared this might be too similar to previous movies like John Q (2002) and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Ambulance (2022). I’m pleased to see I was mostly wrong.

In fact, as someone who loves well-paced chase sequences, this looks quite promising. Perhaps I’ll finally have a favourite Glen Powell movie. Which one’s yours?

I’m now also wondering which will be better, this retelling or the original 1987 movie of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Emilia Jones, Karl Glusman, Sean Hayes, Katy O’Brian, Sophie Simnett, George Carroll, Joey Ansah and Daniel Ezra also star.

The Running Man Release Dates: November 7th, 2025 (US & UK)…

PROJECT HAIL MARY (2026): New Trailer From Ryan Gosling, Liz Kingsman, Lionel Boyce…

It’s time for Ryan Gosling’s in-space movie.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Project Hail Mary is a new sci-fi movie about a ‘non-astronaut’ alone in space, trying to save planet Earth.

I believe this to be the first trailer I’ve posted this year for a movie not out until 2026. We really are more than halfway through the year already.

This trailer had me smiling widely. First, as a Gosling fan, second, the humour, and third, because of the healthy escapism that reminds us to try our best to not despair. I, for one, am very ready for this good-looking tale that will have us all feeling good, at least for a while.

How big was your smile?

Liz Kingsman, Lionel Boyce, Milana Vayntrub, Sandra Hüller, Ken Leung, James Ortiz, James Wright, Robert James Smith, Bastian Antonio Fuentes and Isla McRae also star.

Project Hail Mary Release Dates: March 20th, 2026 (US & UK)

BUGONIA (2025): New Trailer From Yorgos Lanthimos, Starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Alicia Silverstone

Jesse Plemons, Emma Stone and Alicia Silverstone’s latest movie Bugonia is a sci-fi/comedy from Poor Things (2023) director Yorgos Lanthimos.

Bugonia follows the antics of two conspiracy-obsessed men who believe the high-powered CEO of a major company to be an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. So, they kidnap her.

Since this is a Lanthimos film, we probably can’t expect an easy viewing experience. Because it’s a Lanthimos, Stone and Plemons film, quality is just about guaranteed.

I’m eager to learn whether Stone’s CEO character is an actual alien. What kind of company is she really running? What are the kidnappers’ stories? Fingers crossed that answers will be forthcoming.

Aidan Delbis, Vanessa Eng, Yaisa, Cedric Dumornay, Marc T. Lewis and Roger Carvalho also star.

Bugonia Release Dates: October 31st, 2025 (US); November 7th, 2025 (UK)…

FRANKENSTEIN (2025): New Trailer From Guillermo del Toro, Starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz…

Guillermo del Toro is the director behind a new retelling of Mary Shelley’s horror classic, Frankenstein.

Starring Oscar Isaac, Christoph Waltz, Jacob Elordi, and Mia Goth, Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Isaac) creates a monster (Elordi) that leads to disaster for the scientist and his creation.

I wonder if we’ll see Elordi’s face as the monster; perhaps we shall, in the next trailer.

I’ve already started making peace with missing out on all the lovely cinematography when I fail to watch this because it’s a horror film. At least I’ll always have the trailers, thankfully.

Are you into this good-looking new Frankenstein story?

Ralph Ineson, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery and Lauren Collins also star.

Frankenstein Release Dates: November 2025 (US)…

JURASSIC WORLD – REBIRTH (2025): Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Jurassic World – Rebirth (2025).

Directed by Gareth Edwards and set five years after Jurassic World Dominion (2022), Jurassic World Rebirth is the next instalment in the Jurassic Park movie franchise.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali and Rupert Friend, the time is coming for a mission to extract DNA for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.

We put ourselves in a place where we don’t belong. Survival is a long shot.’

It would seem I already have my favourite line in a movie that hasn’t yet been released. I like the delivery and the actor saying the words. Words that remind me of what people say about those who kick beehives. I’ll do my best to prevent schadenfreude from taking over when death inevitably comes to at least one of the people ‘disturbing’ the dinosaurs.

Generally speaking, is it me, or does the dialogue seem rather promising? In fact, it all looks rather good, doesn’t it? The music, visual effects, acting, all of it.

Bechir Sylvain, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda and Ed Skrein also star.

Jurassic World Rebirth Release Dates: July 2nd, 2025 (US & UK)…
