MISS SLOANE (2016): New Trailer Starring Jessica Chastain, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jake Lacy…

Miss Sloane is the story of an ambitious lobbyists’s efforts to pass gun control legislation in the United states.

Starring Jessica Chastain, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Jake Lacy, the movie is directed by John Madden of Shakespeare In Love (1998) and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011).

I was really wanting to be more excited about this film after learning of the subject matter. However, this trailer doesn’t have me as desperate to see the movie as I’d hoped.

Perhaps my current lack of enthusiasm will be proven misplaced. I’m sure the knowledge that there’s currently very little, if any success in the US where gun control legislation is concerned certainly doesn’t help matters.

In the mean time, I say bring on that time in the future when the gun control legislation that’s desperately needed is finally a reality.

THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE (2016): New Trailer From Jamie Dornan, Mark Strong, Guillaume Canet…

Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Siege of Jadotville (2016).

Set in early 1960s Jadotville, Congo, Jamie Dornan’s latest movie The Siege Of Jadotville has him playing Irish UN Commander Pat Quinlan. A man who must lead 150 Irish soldiers against 3,000 French and Belgian Mercenaries.

I must say that I’m glad to see Dornan in a role where he gets to use his country’s accent.

After seeing this trailer, I’m hoping that things end as well as they possibly can for the key protagonist(s) involved, especially since they’re the underdog.

Directed by Richie Smyth, the story is based on the the book by Declan Power.

APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN (2016): New Trailer Starring Mark Strong, Sanaa Lathan, Luke Wilson…

Starring Luke Wilson, Sanaa Lathan and Mark Strong, Approaching The Unknown is a new movie about a mission to Mars that doesn’t quite go according to plan.

Written/directed by Mark Elijah Rosenberg, one thing that seems very clear is that this movie is highly unlikely to be incorrectly  categorised as a comedy, come award season, 2017. It was ridiculous enough when The Martian (2015) was nominated in the comedy category.

Now, I’m just hoping that the finished product is good, because right now, I feel like it could go either way,

Approaching The Unknown Release Dates: June 3rd, 2016 (US in theatres and iTunes)…

THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY (2016): New Comedy Trailer From Sacha Baron Cohen & Mark Strong

The Brothers Grimsby (2016), Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Strong
The Brothers Grimsby (2016), Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Strong

I’m a fan of Mark Strong, not just because of the bass in his voice – even though it helps. I also love Sacha Baron Cohen because he’s a comedy great.

In 2016, both actors will star as brothers in the Louis Leterrier-directed comedy, The Brothers Grimsby.

I’ve really missed and comedy antics of Baron Cohen. Fingers crossed that thsi will be a lot of fun.

Rebel Wilson, Isla Fisher and Penelope Cruz also star.

Release Date (s): March 4th 2016 (US & UK)…

KINGSMAN – THE SECRET SERVICE (2014): Everything I Wanted To See

Kingsman - The Secret Service (2014), Taron Egerton, Colin Firth

What a very pleasant surprise!’

The above is my thoughts and feelings during and after watching action/adventure/comedy, Kingsman – The Secret Service.

Of course, I should have had way more faith – if only because the film is directed by Matthew Vaughn, part of the great team that brought us Snatch (2000) and Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (1998).

Starring Colin Firth, Sofia Boutella, Samuel L Jackson, Mark Strong, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton; Kingsman – The Secret Service or Kingsman for short is a great movie.

A story of adventure, fun characters, action, well-choreographed fight sequences and some good old British gentlemanly charm.

Kingsman is also very stylish and I definitely don’t just mean the suits. There are one or two things that you’ll see coming, story-wise but even more so, the spectacle will surprise you and exceed your expectations.

All that remains for me is to patiently wait for the next instalment.

Hurry and see it, if you haven’t already. Hurry!
