Thank You For Your Service (2017), Miles Teller

In new war drama/biography Thank You For Your Service, starring Miles Teller and Hayley Bennett, a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq are struggling to integrate back into family and civilian life.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is interesting, and my two favourite war films – American Sniper (2014) and The Hurt Locker (2008) touch on the subject to a degree.

In Thank You For Your Service, PTSD is the main focus, and so I must watch. The other reason for me to see this is Teller, because of his memorable work in Whiplash (2014).

Lastly, I’m curious about Bennett. I’ve seen her in a number of trailers, but I’m yet to watch one of her movies.

Directed by Jason Hall; Joe Cole and Keisha Castle-Hughes also star.

Starring Miles Teller as World Champion Boxer Vinnie Pazienza, Bleed for This is the true story of an athlete’s extraordinary comeback following a major setback.

Directed by Ben Younger, the reason’s I’ll be tuning into this one is the inspiring story and Miles Teller’s talents. The man is great in Whiplash (2014) after all.

War Dogs (2016), Miles Teller, Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill and Miles Teller’s new movie has a certain Wolf Of Wall Street (2013) and 21 Jump Street (2012) vibe. Not a bad thing.

I wonder if this story would be as intriguing if it wasn’t based on real people. Namely David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli – the two young men who were hired to arm America’s allies in Afghanistan.

I’m really hoping that the characters in this are not as annoying as the trailer music.

War Dogs is directed/co-written by Todd Phillips of The Hangover (2009). As such, perhaps I ought to be more hopeful.

I haven’t watched a single film in The Divergent Series. It’s likely that I won’t any time soon but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the execution of their latest trailer for Allegiant, the last instalment.

The music (a remix of ‘Tris’ by Ellie Golding) combined with the minimal dialogue and imagery is quite the audio visual experience.

Will you be watching Allegiant?

FANTASTIC FOUR (2015): May The Movie Live Up To Its Name

How did I not feature the Fantastic Four trailer sooner? Slight super hero movie fatigue perhaps.

Whatever the answer, I’m doing it now because it is rather well done. My favourite moment being when Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic looks up and down to his right. Isn’t slow motion a beautiful thing?

With some of the most talented actors of young Hollywood, Fantastic Four is an interesting super hero movie about – you guessed it, saving humanity. This new reboot is directed by Josh Trank and stars Miles Teller, Michael B Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.
