A Quiet Place – Day One follows writer/director John Krasinski’s drama/horror/sci-fi hits, A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part 2 (2020).

Co-written by Krasinski and directed this time by Michael Sarnoski; we finally get to learn about what happened the day the world went quiet.

I love that I had absolutely no idea this was on the way, let alone that it would star an actor as magnetic as Nyong’o.

I may end up terrified, but I’m ready for the action, story, visual effects, and hopefully answers to questions many A Quiet Place fans have had since the first movie.

Also, it’s still only month two, but 2024 is looking good for the volume of movies I’m excited about this year. Will you be watching to see if Nyong’o’s character makes it through?

Jessica Chastain, Sebastian Stan, Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz and Diane Kruger are the stars of new Simon Kinberg directed thriller, The 355.

A spy movie about five women working together to stop a global organisation from acquiring a weapon that could thrust the world into total chaos.

First of all, is it just me or does Lupita’s outfit in teh above photo suggest Harry Potter?

Secondly, what a lovely mix of talent. I’m excited to see what the group chemistry is like and hoping to enjoy this more than I did Chastain’s last movie, Ava (2020).

Edgar Ramírez, Bingbing Fan, Jason Wong, Leo Staar, Raphael Acloque, Hiten Patel, Wong Charlie, Evie Wray, Toby Sauerback and Francisco Labbe also star.

In new comedy/horror Little Monsters, protecting young children from a sudden outbreak of zombies is the job of a washed-up musician, a teacher and a kids’ show personality.

From writer/director, Abe Forsythe; key cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Josh Gad, Stephen Peacocke…

The promise of humour has me interested. I also want to see how well Nyong’o does at selling her character. Then there’s the cuteness of the adorable little kids. I need to see how many of them will cry because I’m almost certain that I’d have been howling immediately.

Kat Stewart, Nadia Townsend, Alexander England, Marshall Napier, Henry Nixon, Rahel Romahn, Jason Chong, Adele Vuko and M.J. Kokolis also star.

Starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver, the trailer for Star Wars – The Rise Of Skywalker, the final chapter of the Star Wars saga is here.

Co-written and directed by J.J. Abrams, other key cast includes Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Carrie Fisher, Dominic Monaghan and Keri Russell.

Episode 9 may well be called ‘the final chapter’ but there’s without a doubt, many, many more Star wars movies to come.

This one is a very cool trailer, of course. Also, that great jump by Ridley’s Rey really had me wanting to sign up for a gymnastics class. Granted, it was a fleeting thought, but for a second there, nothing was truer in my heart and mind.

From writer/director Jordan Peele, the new horror/thriller Us is a story of uninvited visitors who bring tension and chaos to a family vacationing at a beach house.

Key cast includes Lupita N’Yongo, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elisabeth Moss and Anna Diop.

I’m in for the intriguing premise. I particularly can’t wait to see the actors playing two characters each.

All because of how much I enjoyed Get Out (2017), just reading the words ‘tension’ and ‘chaos’ have me excited about the journey Peele has in store for his audience.

Kara Hayward, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph and Noelle Sheldon also star.
