TOGETHER (2025): New Trailer From Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Damon Herriman…

From writer/director Michael Shanks, Together is a new body horror/sci-fi film starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie.

Brie and Franco play a couple whose relationship, existence, and physical form are altered after their move to the countryside triggers a supernatural incident.

I like this clever tease of a trailer, especially the way it has me spooked yet very curious. May the answers to all our questions be delivered very well indeed.

It sure does look as though we’re in the era of body horror, don’t we? Especially after The Substance (2024) and the upcoming The Ugly Step Sister (2025). The latter is likely too horrific and real for me to watch. We’ll see.

Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Jack Kenny, Karl Richmond, Charlie Lees, MJ Dorning, Sunny S. Walia, Tom Considine, Rob Brown and Melanie Beddie also star.

Together Release Dates: July 30th, 2025 (US)…

HAPPIEST SEASON (2020): The Things I Loved…

Happiest Season (2020), Dan Levy, Kristen Stewart, Hulu
Happiest Season (2020), Dan Levy, Kristen Stewart, Hulu

I haven’t seen all the Christmas movies due for release in 2020 just yet. Particularly since it’s not even December as I write this. Nevertheless, let’s just say that it’s going to take something very special to dethrone Happiest Season as my favourite Christmas film of the year.

I found plenty to enjoy in this Clea Duvall co-written/directed story about needing to be exactly yourself, wanting your family’s acceptance and trying hard not to mess up Christmas.

Firstly, there’s the good performances by all, particularly Mackenzie Davis who I’ve been a fan of since Always Shine (2016). Then comes the musical score that I believe is near perfection.

Additionally, Happiest Season manages to feel fresh, even though the holiday/romance/comedy film category is far from new. And the ‘freshness’ is, in part because the central characters are a young lesbian couple. However, it’s simply good writing, editing, acting, music and all else necessary that makes Duvall’s movie the perfect holiday film experience I’ve been needing.

Happiest Season is also funny in all the right places. Plus, it features a good mix of memorable dramatic moments too. Watch it at once, I say! Because it’s good.

Lastly, like myself, by the end you may feel that you’ve finally come across your favourite Kristen Stewart performance. Especially if you’re not too busy appreciating the noteworthy family wisdom, plus the good examples of friendship and kindness in the story.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of Horse Girl (2019).

Imagine being socially awkward, fond of arts and crafts, horses, and supernatural crime shows. Then your increasingly lucid dreams start trickling into your waking life.

This is the premise of Horse Girl, a new Jeff Baena-directed drama starring Alison Brie, Molly Shannon, John Ortiz and Robin Tunney.

Going mad must be one of the loneliest experiences. I simply want to know what’s really going on with Sarah; especially since it looks like a promising Brie performance.

Is it just me or does the high necked outfit in the above trailer thumbnail remind anyone else of a straight jacket?

Matthew Gray Gubler, Debby Ryan, Paul Reiser, Dylan Gelula, Meredith Hagner, Toby Huss, Angela Trimbur, David Paymer, John Reynolds, Jay Duplass and Dendrie Taylor also star.

Horse Girl Release Dates: January 27th, 2020 (US) / Netflix…

THE LEGO MOVIE 2 – The Second PART (2019): New Trailer From Chris Pratt, Margot Robbie, Alison Brie…

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part (2019)
The Lego Movie 2 – The Second Part (2019)

In The Lego Movie 2 – The Second Part, it’s just five years since everything was awesome, but now LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space are  wrecking everything, and so the new threat must be dealt with.

Chris Pratt, Margot Robbie and Alison Brie star while Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum direct.

I decided that I already like this movie simply because of the title, especially ‘the second part’ of it. I’m looking forward to all the humour and silliness.

Tiffany Haddish, Jonah Hill, Elizabeth Banks, Stephanie Beatriz, Channing Tatum, Nick Offerman, Will Arnett and Charlie Day also star.

The Lego Movie 2 – The Second Part Release Dates: February 8th, 2019 (US & UK)
