THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE (2026): New Trailer Starring Benny Safdie, Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Brie Larson…

Stopping Wario and Bowser Jr.’s evil alliance as they attempt world domination is what Mario and friends are tasked with in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

From director Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, Brie Larson, Benny Safdie, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Pratt are among the key cast.

Princess Rosalina! You’re coming with me!’

The princess is a key reason for my interest. Especially since, in this trailer, everything that happens from 2:01 onwards is my favourite. The rest will likely feel like a watchable, easy viewing animated experience. Bear in mind that I say this all without having watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie of 2023, which I hear was quite fun.

How enthusiastic do you feel about this second instalment?

Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Charlie Day and Kevin Michael Richardson also star.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Release Dates: April 3rd, 2026 (US & UK)…

A new unexpectedly refreshing trailer just landed. One that has a very promising cast that happens to be largely female.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, The Marvels stars Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris and Samuel L. Jackson in a follow-up to 2019’s Captain Marvel.

Outside of the rather recent Wakanda Forever (2022), it’s been a while since I committed to watching more than just the trailer of new superhero movies. Today however, I find myself curious about the dynamic between the younger and the more established female superheroes in this trailer. I mean, I’m certainly a fan of Iman Vellan and the energy she brings to her role as as Ms. Marvel.

If there’s a chance for a new superhero movie to pull me back in, perhaps it’s this one. Has this trailer had a similar effect on you?

Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon, Mohan Kapur, Caroline Simonnet Kamara Benjamin Barnett, Michael Oladele and Tony McCarthy also star.

The Marvels Release Dates: November 10th, 2023 (US); November 2023 (UK)…

CAPTAIN MARVEL (2018): The Things I Liked…

Captain Marvel (2018), Brie Larson, Marvel Studios
Captain Marvel (2018), Brie Larson, Marvel Studios

The subject of Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios’s first superhero film with a female superhero as the main character is Carol Danvers (Brie Larson). Danvers is an officer of the United States Air Force who, following an accident, ends up becoming one of the universe’s most powerful heroes.

Also starring Lashana Lynch, Jude Law, Annette Bening and directed by Anna Boden, plus Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel features the classic elements of the superhero origin story. Yet, it also has a couple of satisfying twists and turns I didn’t see coming, especially since I don’t read comic books.

Well-acted, adequately engaging – both story-wise and visually, what will stay with me most about this movie is the moment I realised and saw just how powerful Captain Marvel really is. A truth that had me both wowed and wondering about who holds the title for the most powerful avenger. I also couldn’t help but be curious about the important role Captain Marvel would eventually play in Avengers – Endgame (2019).

Having seen Wonder Woman (2017), DC Comics’ first female superhero movie months prior to the Captain Marvel release, part of the reason I was drawn to the latter film was to find out which of the two movies I’d find more entertaining. In short, the answer is Wonder Woman. I’m not saying I think it’s a perfect film, but I do remember enjoying the humour, story, action, musical score and visual effects that little bit more.

I’m now wondering if Wonder Woman will still come out in front once I’ve seen the sequels for both films, when they eventually arrive.

I’d say watch Captain Marvel if you’re curious but you probably already have. So instead I’ll ask, which movie did you prefer and why? Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman?

Jordan and Foxx in a movie together? I didn’t know I needed it until it was here.

Narrated by Brie Larson; featured scientists include Paul Stamets, best-selling authors Michael Pollan, Eugenia Bone and Andrew Weil.

The great time-lapse visuals have me interested, and mushrooms do happen to be one of the foods I eat regularly. I’ll also be watching for the science/magic.
