Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Wilde Wedding (2017).

From writer/director Damian Harris, The Wilde Wedding is a new comedy about a retired actress who gets married for the fourth time, to a renowned English writer.

Glenn Close, Patrick Stewart, John Malkovich and Minnie Driver are among the key cast.

I’ll be watching because the cast is great. There’s also the fact that this trailer looks good and reminds me so much of one of my favourites, It’s Complicated (2009).

Also, tell me you recognised Sir Patrick Stewart (a.k.a Professor X from the X-Men movies), but with hair in this trailer. Otherwise, what kind of movie fan are you, really?

Yael Stone, Peter Facinelli, Grace Van Patten and Noah Emmerich also make an appearance.

THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS (2016): The Thing I Liked…

Melanie (Sennia Nanua) is a special young girl. A young girl who’s taken along on a journey of survival with her teacher (Gemma Aterton) and a scientist (Glenn Close).

Directed by Colm McCarthy and set in a dystopian future in what looks like London, England, The Girl With All The Gifts is an adequate zombie movie. It’s not quite the kind you may be expecting in some respects, but it’s worth it to hang in there for the ending, my favourite part.

As for the horror categorisation, I don’t recall getting particularly terrified as I watched, probably because gore isn’t necessarily the core focus of McCarthy’s movie.

The Girl With All The Gifts is a relatively smart zombie film, even though I find the idea of zombies a tad more ridiculous and unreal than the idea of vampires – as odd as that may seem. And yes, I’m also sure I wouldn’t survive a zombie apocalypse.

Watch The Girl With All The Gifts if you’re intrigued enough, and, to find out about the refreshing difference that is the ending.

THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS (2016): New Trailer Starring Gemma Arterton, Glenn Close, Sennia Nanua…

Starring Gemma Arterton, Sennia Nanua, Glenn Close and Paddy Considine, The Girl With All The Gifts is based on the best selling book by  Mike Carey, and directed by Colm McCarthy.

Set in a less than perfect future where survival is dependant on a teacher, a scientist and a young girl called Melanie the trailer is quite promising.

I’m glad that the movie isn’t a straight horror film but a drama/horror/thriller; meaning  I can watch it and still sleep soundly that same night.

Will you be watching?

The Girl With All The Gifts Release Dates: September 23rd, 2016 (UK)…
