Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson and Jon Hamm are the stars of Tag, a Jeff Tomsic-directed comedy about a group of former classmates who organise an elaborate, annual game of tag that takes them all over the country.

Is it fair that I compare every movie about three or more adult male friends having a great time together and being a certain kind of outrageous to The Hangover (2009)? I’m sure it isn’t, but I really can’t help myself.

After watching this trailer, the subject matter of Tag seems a tad juvenile to have me especially intrigued, but what a pleasant surprise it would be if I ended up really liking this film.

I love a great comedy, and I want that to be the case here, so, give Tag a chance, I must.

Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb and Hannibal Buress also star.

Tag Release Dates: June 11th, 2018 (US); July 6th, 2018 (UK)…

BEIRUT (2018): New Trailer From Jon Hamm, Rosamund Pike, Shea Whigham…

Beirut (2018), Jon Hamm

In Brad Anderson-directed Beirut, Jon Hamm is a U.S. diplomat who flees Lebanon in 1972 after a tragic incident at his home.

Ten years pass and he’s called back to war-torn Beirut by CIA operatives to negotiate for the life of a friend he left behind.

Rosamund Pike and Shea Whigham also star.

I want to see this so I can have another film to add to my list of favourite Hamm performances. That is, of course, besides Mad Men (2007-2015) and Friends With Kids (2011).

Beirut Release Dates: April 13th, 2018 (US)

Starring Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lilly James, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and directed by Edgar Wright, Baby Driver is the new action/crime/thriller about a young getaway driver who has been coerced into taking part in a heist job that’s doomed to fail.

All that came to mind right away as I watched this trailer was ‘What a great role for Elgort to land’. The next thought was, I want to see this simply because it looks good.

Jon Bernthal, Eiza González, Flea and Sky Ferreira also star.

Baby Driver Release Dates:  August 11th, 2017 (US); August 16th, 2017 (UK); August 31st, 2017 (GER)…

Starring Jonna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous – The Movie finally has a trailer I can get excited about.

I didn’t realise how much I’d missed the antics of Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone until now.

I already love the Kate Moss story. Now, I can’t wait for a taste of the sense of humour of some of British and international fashion’s best known. Namely, Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian West, Cara Delevigne, Stella McCartney and so on.

Jon Hamm, Rebel Wilson and Gwendoline Christie also star.

Absolutely Fabulous The Movie Release Dates: July 1st, 2016 (UK); July 22nd, 2016 (US; September 8th, 2016 (GER)…

MINIONS (2015): For Their General Adorableness & Super Joy Inducing Qualities

Minions (2015), Stuart, Kevin, Bob (Pierre Coffin)

Minions is the film I had been waiting and hoping for ever since I saw the first Despicable Me (2010) movie. It was clear for me even then that the minions were the ones I wanted to see most.

After spending time dreaming about a minion focused movie, I’m glad to confirm that any fears I had about the end result not being as good as hoped were a complete waste of time.

Directed by Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin, and written by Brian Lynch, my favourite thing about Minions, besides the adorableness of the yellow, banana-loving and happiness-inducing beauties, is the fact that this time, the audience got to know more about them. Learning their story, from how they came to wear those blue dungarees to the different personalities of the three main minions, Stuart, Kevin and Bob.

I haven’t yet met anyone that doesn’t enjoy the minions, though I’m certain that they exist.

I love them so much that I’ve been known to yelp with delight – and at head-turning volumes at the sight of them. I was recently caught off guard reaching such volumes when I encountered tens of Minions plush toys in a busy mall. Looking back, it was quite embarrassing, but who has time for embarrassment, really, when lots of cute minions soft toys insist on spreading joy?

The film isn’t perfect in the traditional sense but it’s hugely loved nonetheless because it doesn’t need to be perfect, nor does it need to follow all the traditional rules.

Watch Minions for a fun adventure that’ll leave you with a sizeable smile on your face, praise for the ending and a prayer for an even better next instalment, should it make sense.

Sandra Bullock is great as super villain Scarlet Overkill. Jon Hamm Allison Janney, Michael Keaton, Pierre Coffin, Steve Koogan and Jennifer Saunders provide some of the the voices that bring the other key characters to life.

Watch it and laugh, smile, plus plenty more.
